The highly-anticipated Shenmue 3 has made its way onto the PC Gaming Show stage at this year's E3 with an appearance from series creator Yu Suzuki. With a flashy new Shenmue 3 gameplay trailer released, Deep Silver has also finally confirmed a release date of November 19 2019.

Shenmue 3 has come under fire for some announcements from Deep Silver earlier in the year. While it was a Kickstarter success, news about the title requiring 100GB of hard drive space and consistent delays in the release date have left fans frustrated. Hopefully, this will be the last time that the release of the game is pushed back.

The Shenmue 3 gameplay trailer shows off protagonist Ryo Hazuki as he travels to China to avenge the death of his father. Ryo immediately gets mixed up with the wrong crowd in the footage, and fans are treated to a close look at the series' iconic art style and how it's going to hold up when you're punching and kicking your way through a bunch of bad guys. While this isn't quite the final build, it's nice to see some footage beyond beautifully rendered cutscenes, especially since the trailer ends by confirming the November 19 2019 release date.

It's been some time since the last update that Deep Silver gave fans on Shenmue 3. Considering that the series has been going for almost two decades, those waiting to see a conclusion to the story will be happy to see that they can expect some closure as soon as later this year. We've got our fingers crossed that the release date isn't pushed back again. From what we can see of the Shenmue 3 gameplay trailer though, the years haven't dulled the series' signature aesthetic at all, and the detailed environments look like they'll be a joy to traverse.
