Warning: Contains SPOILERS for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 6.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has a few episodes left of its first and possibly only season, and the show finally remembered that it has an important story to tell. While She-Hulk has focused on showing Jennifer Walter's personal life, the show also has some important MCU introductions to make. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 6, "Just Jen", shows a better balance of Jennifer Walters' personal life and super heroics than some of the previous episodes.

Phase 4 has seen its fair share of contentious movies and television series, but She-Hulk may be the most polarizing entry yet. From bringing back Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk to a controversial dancing scene with Megan Thee Stallion, this particular Disney+ feels the most different from the other MCU shows because it has a different main storyline each episode, and they don't always interconnect with one another. Another issue with the plot is that certain aspects will be forgotten for multiple episodes, and main characters will come and go from time to time. The tease at the end of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 6 shows how the story finally connects previous entries of the series, and paves the way for the future of the MCU outside of just introducing the new hero.

She-Hulk has shown a consistent balance of Jennifer Walters' life at work as She-Hulk and a mixture of both personalities outside of her job. But up until now, it never really felt like there was a main storyline outside of Walters coming to terms with her superhero abilities and having to juggle that with her eclectic career. This changed swiftly, as the question of who is at the end of She-Hulk episode 6 looks set to have the show establish major villains for the overall franchise going forward. Evidence suggests that the person at the end of the episode was The Leader from The Incredible Hulk, due to the fact he also wanted to experiment with Bruce Banner's blood in the movie, and because of his slated return in Captain America: New World Order. The introduction of Intelligencia, an organization from the comics made up of the smartest villains in the Marvel Universe, also includes The Leader as a member. In setting this up, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law establishes some important elements for the franchise going forward, drawing the plot back into the overarching MCU.

She-Hulk Is About To Become Even More Divisive

She-Hulk' Review: Tatiana Maslany Shines as Marvel's Attorney at Law - Variety

For those who have watched many of the Marvel projects over the years, it can be frustrating when Marvel Studios decides to fake out their audience, no matter how it's done. When Daredevil was teased in She-Hulk episode 5 but didn't appear in the next episode, it naturally led to disappointment. At the same time, the MCU's hero teases make Phase 5 more promising because the team behind the franchise knows how much the character means to the viewers. The teases set up in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 6 should leave audiences cautiously optimistic for some big revelations, as the show gets into the heart of how it will affect the MCU. However, in doing so, this may actually make She-Hulk even more divisive, as it changes the focus of the show.

Many have enjoyed She-Hulk so far because of how different it is from the rest of the MCU. But with the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 6 set up, it's clear that viewers can expect a more conventional MCU experience when the big villain is revealed. Though this is good for potentially establishing a figure like the Leader further before he appears in other MCU installments, it could also serve to make She-Hulk a less unique show, which may only split audience reception of it further.

New episodes of She-Hulk release on Thursdays on Disney+.
