Warning: This post contains SPOILERS for She-Hulk episode 6!

Marvel is brilliantly trolling viewers over Daredevil's appearance in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. Charlie Cox's surprise return as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home opened the door for the former Daredevil star to re-enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a major way. It was eventually confirmed that part of his future included a supporting role in She-Hulk. Thanks to Daredevil and She-Hulk's shared careers in law, the crossover between Matt Murdock and Jennifer Walters has been highly anticipated - and Marvel knew it would be.

There was a long period of time when Marvel would not confirm Daredevil's presence in She-Hulk or show him in any of the show's marketing. Even the early episodes of the series refrained from directly setting up Matt Murdock's return. That changed when She-Hulk episode 5 showed Daredevil's helmet at the very end. The quick glimpse of the new yellow and red helmet was enough to get fans incredibly excited about his upcoming appearance. It also created an expectation that Daredevil would be in She-Hulk episode 6.

Viewers expecting She-Hulk's Daredevil cameo to happen right away will be disappointed, and Marvel perfectly trolled audiences with the bait and switch setup. The very beginning of She-Hulk episode 6 has Jennifer Walters mention that it is a self-contained wedding episode, and she even acknowledges that it comes at an inconvenient point in the season. It shows that Marvel is hilariously self-aware that viewers would expect Daredevil in She-Hulk episode 6 and be disappointed by Charlie Cox not appearing. That has not stopped many from criticizing Marvel for the troll and being frustrated that the Daredevil tease was not immediately paid off. However, it reinforces the idea that She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters' show and that there would not be a big cameo every week.

Why Daredevil Isn't In She-Hulk Episode 6

Charlie Cox as Daredevil in She-Hulk

She-Hulk episode 6 missing Daredevil is part of the deliberate structure of the season. The front half of the season was loaded with MCU cameos as Smart Hulk, Abomination, and Wong all played significant roles for multiple episodes. She-Hulk episode 6 continues a return to focus on just Jennifer Walters and her personal life, including the ongoing feud with Titania. While it is expected that Smart Hulk and Abomination will return in the final three episodes, it appears that Marvel is saving Daredevil to be She-Hulk's last big cameo.

Questions now remain about when Daredevil will finally appear in She-Hulk. It has been teased that the show has a significant character return in the final two episodes, so that very well could be Matt Murdock. Footage has confirmed that She-Hulk and Daredevil's team-up happens after Jen starts wearing her new super suit. Since viewers will continue missing Daredevil in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law for at least another episode, most likely, it will be fun to see if Marvel's trolling continues during his absence.
