Netflix's She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is ending after season 5, as announced along with a premiere date for the final season. She-Ra originally premiered on Netflix in late 2018, with new seasons dropping every couple of months on the streaming service.

DreamWorks Animation announced the popular reboot of the classic 80s cartoon is premiering its fifth and final season on May 15th. As the previous season ended with the looming threat of Horde Prime and the loss of She-Ra and the Sword of Protection, this upcoming season will explore how Adora, the Princesses of Power and the rest of the rebellion will overcome this adversity and face their most formidable foe yet. The show features the voice talents of Aimee Carrero as Adora/She-Ra, Karen Fukuhara as Glimmer, and AJ Michalka as Adora's best friend turned archenemy Catra. DreamWorks also unveiled two She-Ra season 5 posters that can be viewed below.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power has garnered praise from both critics and casual viewers alike. It has been nominated for both Emmys and Critics' Choice awards, and is often compared to other critically acclaimed animated shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender and Steven Universe. It has be praised for unapologetically putting women at the center of the narrative while giving them diverse character traits and complex relationships. The show also has an all-female writers room and a majority female crew, helping provide a sense of authenticity when bringing these characters to life.
