Marvel Studios has cast Tatiana Maslany to play Jennifer Walters in the She-Hulk Disney+ TV show. The start of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe might have been delayed due to COVID-19, but the next few years are shaping up quite nicely for the franchise. Marvel has plans for a number of exciting movies but Phase 4 is also where the studio will dive into TV thanks to Disney+. One of the many projects they are developing is She-Hulk, which was announced with a second wave of upcoming MCU Disney+ shows last summer.

The series will put Bruce Banner's cousin Jennifer Walters front and center, as the lawyer gains the same superpowers as Hulk. Anticipation for She-Hulk has been high, but news on the series has been light until recently. It was previously known that Rick and Morty scribe Jessica Gao is writing the series, but the most recent update about the show revealed Kat Coiro (Dead to Me) will direct. This most recent development led fans to hope that it wouldn't be long before Jennifer Walters was cast, and now she has.

According to Deadline, Tatiana Maslany has been tapped to play the titular role in She-Hulk. Maslany is best known for her work on Orphan Black, which she won an Emmy for, but most recently starred in HBO's Perry Mason series. Now, Maslany is breaking into the superhero genre to take on She-Hulk. There is no word on when She-Hulk will production.

Now that She-Hulk has been cast, Marvel can also specifically continue making progress on her Disney+ show. Mark Ruffalo has already confirmed that he's talked to Marvel about returning as Smart Hulk for She-Hulk, so confirmation of his return could come next. There have also been reports that Thunderbolt Ross and Betty Ross will be featured in the series too. These additional characters will be secondary to She-Hulk's story, and given Maslany's past roles, fans should be excited to eventually see what she brings to the role.

The casting of Maslany in She-Hulk is the latest big piece of casting to come for the MCU. It was recently announced that Jonathan Majors will play Kang in Ant-Man 3, but now one of Marvel's upcoming Disney+ series has its lead. Once the studio finds their Kamala Khan and Marc Spector, for Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight respectively, all announced Disney+ shows will have their leads. Hopefully, the reveal of Maslany and Majors is a sign that Marvel Studios is busy making deals and setting plans for the rest of Phase 4. If so, then more big MCU casting could come soon.
