A new teaser trailer for She-Hulk reveals the return of Smart Hulk to the MCU. She-Hulk is the new Disney+ series starring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, a lawyer by day and She-Hulk when she's angry. The series showrunner is Jessica Gao and Kat Coiro & Anu Valia serve as directors for the 10-episode series.

Joining Maslany on the show is Tim Roth, once again playing The Abomination/Emil Blonsky, who made his first appearance in 2008's The Incredible Hulk and recently appeared as the character in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Also joining the cast is Jameela Jamil as She-Hulk villain Titania, as well as Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, and Renée Elise Goldsberry. Mark Ruffalo is also returning to the show as Bruce Banner/Hulk, although until now it was unclear if he would be in human or Hulk form.

In a new teaser trailer during Disney+ Day, it was revealed that Ruffalo would be returning as Smart Hulk for She-Hulk, who was first featured in Avengers: Endgame. The footage also teases Maslany's She-Hulk form, but stops short of a full reveal, but does tease her signature purple/white uniform from the comics. It also shows Ruffalo's Hulk seemingly training Maslany in a chamber of some sort, saying, "these transformations are triggered by anger or fear." Check out the teaser trailer and more images below:

Ruffalo took over the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk from Edward Norton, who portrayed the character in The Incredible Hulk. The controversial change resulted in Ruffalo's first appearance as the already-established character in 2012's The Avengers. He would go on to appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. His transformation from angry hulk to smart hulk took place over the course of those films and now it appears that he'll continue with the smart Hulk persona, at least for She-Hulk.

Having Ruffalo in She-Hulk is an absolute win for the show, which could certainly carry on without him, but is only enhanced with his presence. Like Hawkeye, She-Hulk has a bit of passing-the-torch going on, with what appears to be more mentorship roles for the original Avengers, guiding the next generation of Marvel heroes into the fray. For older fans it means getting to see their favorites again, while welcoming in younger fans to brand new characters to the MCU. The tides are shifting as new Marvel shows and films debut, making for a new wave of characters to get to know. Thankfully, the original MCU stars are showing up to help usher them in.
