The She-Hulk: Attorney At Law trailer on Disney+ features noticeably more defined and improved CGI for the titular main character. Based on the comic book character of the same name, Disney+'s She-Hulk: Attorney At Law is poised to join the streaming platform's growing superhero show roster later this summer. The show stars Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, but also sees the return of Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, Tim Roth's Abomination, and Benedict Wong's Wong.
An initial trailer for the She-Hulk show, which was released earlier last week, teases lots of humor, action, legal drama, and romance, most of which has got fans excited. Immediately upon the trailer's release, however, many viewers took issue with the CGI used to create its titular main character. Some compared She-Hulk's CGI to effects from movies and shows that are decades old, with many pointing out the character's smooth, fake-looking skin and poor texture quality as the biggest offenders. Of course, while some have criticized She-Hulk's poor CGI, many viewers have expressed excitement at finally seeing the character's MCU debut.
With the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law trailer's release on Disney+, some eagle-eyed fans have noticed a considerable difference in quality between the newly-released version and the version of the trailer that landed on YouTube last week. Twitter users She-Hulk Updates and Oli vs the World have posted side-by-side comparisons from the new trailer and the old, showing off a noticeable improvement in the overall quality of the CGI, particularly the skin texture for She-Hulk herself. It's unclear if the difference in quality is due to MCU visual effects artists actually improving the CGI behind the scenes, or if the video compression on YouTube is more aggressive than on Disney+, but the skin texture difference is considerable. With the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law trailer having released only last week, it does seem like a very fast turnaround for the visual effects to be revamped at Marvel Studios, and it's more likely that compression is indeed to blame for the questionable CGI quality in last week's original She-Hulk trailer.
While boasting considerable resources and massive budgets, many MCU projects have come under fire in recent years for featuring what many consider to be poor-quality CGI. Compared to the original Iron Man, for example, some of the CGI featured in recent MCU movies like Black Widow and Spider-Man: No Way Home is a noticeable downgrade, at least in some areas. It remains to be seen what the CGI will look like in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law when the show does release on August 17th, but it's clear that if one wants a better trailer-viewing experience, Disney+ is currently the best platform to visit.
