Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law trailer just insulted its Avengers team, with Iron Man taking the brunt of the jabs. In addition to boasting appearances from characters from Hulk’s corner of the MCU, it’s been confirmed that Jennifer Walters’ Disney+ series will include nods to some of Marvel’s other superheroes. Though Iron Man wasn’t mentioned by name, the Armored Avenger was referenced in She-Hulk’s first full trailer.

The trailer for She-Hulk’s upcoming Disney+ series finally provided a good look at her transformation and her MCU story. In contrast to the situation with Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, it seems that while Jennifer’s life may be complicated by the change, it won’t be ruined or turned upside down. Instead, it looks like She-Hulk will be making the most of her new life. However, that won’t include becoming a superhero – or at least, not initially. A conversation with her best friend in the trailer saw Jennifer declare right away that she has no intention of taking the path of a superhero.

Not only did She-Hulk say that she didn’t want to be a superhero, but she also seemingly shot down the possibility of her joining the MCU's Avengers team. She said that being a superhero was for “billionaires”, “narcissists”, and “adult orphans for some reason”.  Curiously, all three of these remarks accurately describe Iron Man. This suggests that while most MCU heroes hold Iron Man in high regard for his image and efforts to defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, not everyone puts him on a pedestal. She-Hulk, who most likely never met Tony Stark, may still see him as the arrogant, billionaire playboy he was known as to the public.

Does She-Hulk Become An Avenger In Marvel Comics?

Marvel Comics 1980s Avengers She-Hulk Starfox Sersi

She-Hulk’s apparent trepidation about being an Avenger doesn’t mean she can’t change her mind later. After all, She-Hulk is a major Marvel Comics Avenger. In fact, she’s one of the three biggest Avengers heroes still missing from the MCU, with the other two being Hercules and Wonder Man. As a mainstay of the team during the 1980s, She-Hulk regularly fought beside heroes such as Captain America, Monica Rambeau, Namor, Black Knight, and Thor, and also developed memorable dynamics with Hawkeye, Starfox, Hercules, and the Wasp. Plus, she played roles in some of their biggest stories, including the destruction of Avengers Mansion, the fight with the Greek gods, and the team’s collapse in the late 1980s.

All things considered, her comic history makes Tatiana Maslany’s character a top candidate for the MCU’s next Avengers roster, regardless of her opinion of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the Disney+ show. She may not think that the Avengers are for her at the beginning of the show, but the events of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law could be an eye-opening experience for the character. By the end of the series, she could develop an entirely different attitude toward a potential superhero career and a possible stint with the Avengers.
