Set photos from the upcoming She-Hulk streaming series hint at a potential fight between Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Jameela Jamil’s Titania. Created by Rick and Morty writer Jessica Gao, the series is also set to star Orphan Black’s critically acclaimed Tatiana Maslany as the central character Jennifer Walters A.K.A. She-Hulk. The Incredible Hulk’s Tim Roth, whose character The Abomination also briefly featured in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is also expected to be making an appearance.

English actress Jamil, who has a large number of animation voice credits to her name, is set to play Walters’ key antagonist, the villain Mary MacPherran, A.K.A. Titania. In the original comics, MacPherran was gifted with superhuman strength by the classic Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom in exchange for working in his army of supervillains. Just recently, Jamil caused a stir amongst fans when she took to Twitter to share a photo of herself in a comic-accurate orange wig but would later backtrack and claim the image had nothing to do with her work on the series.

A new photo that was taken from production, however, would seem to refute that assertion. Shared by reviewer and podcaster Charles Villanueva (via The Direct), the image shows Ruffalo in the motion capture suit used for filming his scenes as the Hulk beside a stunt performer wearing an identical wig to the one previously shared to social media by Jamil. Check out the original post which compares the two looks below:

Assuming that wig is indeed used for Titania’s character on the show, the use of a stunt-performer working opposite Ruffalo in his motion-capture suit hints at a major action sequence between the two characters. Over the years, Ruffalo’s version of the Hulk has met his match against several Marvel villains, and Josh Brolin’s Thanos even bested him easily in the opening sequence of Avengers: Infinity War. It will be interesting to see what kind of fight Jamil’s super-powered Titania can put up against Ruffalo’s strongest Avenger.

Of course, until audiences get to see the final product for themselves, this kind of behind-the-scenes detective work involves making several assumptions that could ultimately prove to be way off base. Though with Marvel’s infamous shroud of secrecy preventing fans from getting their hands on more substantial information from their productions, the leadup to any Marvel release is often characterized by amateur sleuthing and rampant speculation. Marvel’s She-Hulk is certainly proving to be no exception to that rule, and fans will continue to keep an eye out for any other potential hints right up until its 2022 release.
