Discussing her future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law star Tatiana Maslany says she wants Jennifer Walters to team up with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova. Next week, Marvel Studios’ latest Disney+ series will see Maslany debut as the newly gamma-radiated cousin of Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/The Hulk. The action legal comedy follows Jennifer as she struggles to balance life as a single, 30-something attorney and being enormously green. In addition to Maslany and Ruffalo, the 9-episode series stars Tim Roth’s Emil Blonsky/The Abomination, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Benedict Wong’s Wong, Ginger Gonzaga, and Jameela Jamil.

Following her Oscar-nominated role in Little Women, Florence Pugh made her MCU debut in last year’s Black Widow. While serving as Scarlett Johansson’s swan song, the film introduced Pugh as Natasha Romanoff’s wise-cracking (surrogate) sister and fellow Red Room trainee Yelena. After the post-credits scene saw Valentina Allegra de Fontaine send Yelena after Clint Barton, Pugh appeared alongside Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld in Disney+’s Hawkeye—in which she charmed audiences with her affinity for macaroni and cheese (with hot sauce). As one of the MCU’s most charismatic new characters, fans can’t wait to see who Yelena interacts with next.

In a recent interview on The Jess Cagle Podcast with Julia Cunningham, Maslany discussed her future in the MCU after She-Hulk. When asked what characters she could team up with, Maslany revealed she’d like to see a “buddy comedy” featuring Yelena and Jennifer. Read the full quote below:

"I love Florence Pugh as an actor, so I want to act with her. I think that duo would be bizarre, but I think that kinda would be fun... It's like a buddy comedy. Us in a car."

Yelena Belova eats mac and cheese from a pot in Hawkeye.

Despite playing a supporting character in Black Widow and Hawkeye, Pugh provided some of the funniest and most emotional moments in both projects—she’s on everyone’s radar not just in the MCU, but in Hollywood. Tom Holland previously revealed that he even discussed a Spider-Man/Yelena crossover idea with Pugh, who has said she’d like to see her character team up with Scarlet Witch and Loki. Many fans want Pugh and Steinfeld’s chemistry to continue in a spin-off from Hawkeye—which seemingly passed Clint’s titular torch to Kate Bishop. Not only is She-Hulk a comedy—which will aptly showcase Maslany’s ability to banter— but it’s ostensibly setting Jennifer up as Bruce’s successor.

Following Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 is laying the foundation for new characters, plotlines, and the entire future of the MCU. Pugh and Maslany are poised to play a huge role in that future, with the latter’s series being the first MCU project to actively break the fourth wall before Ryan Reynolds arrives as Deadpool. Where Maslany pops up after She-Hulk is anyone’s guess as even she doesn’t know. However, Pugh could appear in the upcoming Thunderbolts film (not the Young Avengers), which follows a team comparable to DC’s The Suicide Squad. Whether that film puts Jennifer and Yelena in a car together remains to be seen.
