Warning: SPOILERS lie ahead for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season 1.

Despite featuring a number of recurring faces from the show's run, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law creator Jessica Gao has one major regret about the finale, pointing to the absence of a fan-favorite character. Tatiana Maslany led the ensemble cast of the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe show as Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner's attorney cousin who gets in an accident with him and has her blood cross-contaminated with his, turning into the hero the public names She-Hulk. Jen goes on to try and find the balance between her life as an attorney for super-powered beings, as well as dating in her 30s and those trying to bring her down.

The She-Hulk: Attorney at Law finale memorably saw Jen confronted with a multitude of reveals, including Jon Bass' Todd being behind Intelligencia and holding the moniker HulkKing while Bruce returns to Earth for a rematch with Abomination and Titania appearing for another fight with She-Hulk. Realizing it to be a messy intersection of threads, Jen travels through the fourth wall and meets with Marvel Studios' artificial intelligence K.E.V.I.N., who puts together all MCU projects, and fixes th various threads by taking away Todd's powers, while Tim Roth's Emil Blonsky takes responsibility for his actions and goes back to prison and Bruce returns to Earth from Sakaar with his son Skaar. While the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law finale also saw the returns of Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Benedict Wong's Wong, one beloved character didn't appear, much to the chagrin of more than just audiences.

While breaking down the episode with Variety, Jessica Gao opened up about the challenges of putting together She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's finale. The creator did admit to having one major regret about the MCU show's finale, citing the absence of one fan-favorite character as having disappointed her. See what Gao said below:

[Marvel Studios President] Kevin [Feige] was very specific about with Skaar, so I'm sure there's some plan in the future, though I have no idea what that might be. We all knew that Daredevil had to come back because people love him and their chemistry is so great. I only wish that Patty Guggenheim as Madisynn had come back in the finale. That's my great regret.

How Madisynn Could've Appeared In She-Hulk's Finale

Wong and Madisynn watching TV in She-Hulk season 1 episode 4 mid-credits scene

Given the kitchen sink nature of the first part of the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law finale, it seems like it could have been easy for Patty Guggenheim's fan-favorite Madisynn to appear. Even after Jen's meeting with K.E.V.I.N. restored the chaos of the episode, there was still room for her to appear in the finale's post-credits scene, in which Wong again breaks out Emil from prison and invites him to stay at Kamar-Taj, as Madisynn's last appearance was with Wong discussing the various types of alcohol they've both tried in their lives while watching TV. Seeing Madisynn be introduced to Emil and the friendship turn into a group dynamic with Wong could have proven to be a fun element to explore for fans of the character, especially as many continue to call for a spinoff centered on her and Wong.

Though some may be disappointed at her absence from the episode, Madisynn not appearing in the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law finale may have been better for both her and the episode. Some are already divided on how overstuffed the finale felt, in spite of its meta twist intended to help correct those feelings, and should Madisynn have made an appearance as well, it could have ultimately taken away from the fun of her return. Audiences can catch up with Madisynn's hilarious MCU debut with She-Hulk: Attorney at Law streaming in its entirety on Disney+ now.
