The MCU's She-Hulk: Attorney At Law has the best variety of supporting characters and the sixth episode introduced one of the most interesting ones yet. In his live-action debut, Mr. Immortal sought legal representation after being sued by several women for faking his death in order to get out of marriages.

Since the screen version of Mr. Immortal isn’t as famous as his comic counterpart, he was able to use his immortality to his advantage by tricking his former wives into believing he had succumbed whenever he got involved in deadly accidents. It was definitely a captivating episode and for fans looking for more immortal Marvel characters like him, there are a couple in the comics. But how powerful is each one of them?

Craig Hollis (Mr. Immortal)

Mr. Immortal as one of last two remaining survivors from Earth-26749

Mr. Immortal gains his powers after an encounter with death’s messenger, D’Urge in West Coast Avengers (Vol. 2) #46. He later goes on to become the leader of the Great Lakes Avengers.

As seen in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, Craig’s retroactive immortality enables him to resurrect immediately after he dies. It’s a highly advantageous power because he can always start again, no matter how many times he messes up (which he does a lot). And as the only Homo Supreme—the last stage after Homo Sapiens (humans) and Homo Superior (mutants) —he can boast of having something others don’t. However, Craig ranks lower because he doesn’t have any other major power. As such, he isn’t the most competent hero. His resurrections also tend to be accompanied by fits of rage, which leads to even more mistakes.

Franklin Richards (Earth-12665)

Franklin Richards from Earth-12665 remains alone in his world

The variant of Reed and Sue Richards' son is first seen in Fantastic Four #605 where he is part of a future timeline. He and The Thing remain as the last surviving members of The Fantastic Four before The Thing dies in 6012 AD.

Apart from not being able to die, Franklin has the powers of strength, durability, and speed, but so does nearly every other hero. The Earth-12665 variant is even weaker since he never gains the ability to create new realities like his Earth-616 counterpart. Worse still, his powers aren’t permanent. As explained in Fantastic Four (Vol 3) #49, Franklin tends to lose his powers if he overuses them. This is something other heroes normally don’t have to deal with.

Marc Spector (Moon Knight)

Moon Knight flying in Marvel comics

Spector becomes immortal after making a pact with moon god Konshu in Moon Knight (Vol 9) #1. As such, he has been brought back to life three times.

Though Spector is an expert combatant and can live forever, he isn’t among the most powerful Marvel characters. Since his strengths, reflexes, and endurance are dependent on the phases of the moon, he becomes an easy target during the day. On a brighter note, his association with Konshu has granted him superior brain function to the point where he can resist telepathic attacks. This is best demonstrated when Hawley attempts to enter his mind and fails.

Cassandra Webb (Madame Web)

Cassandra Webb as Madame Web in the Marvel Comics

Cassandra becomes immortal after the Gathering of The Five ceremony in Amazing Spider-Man #441. Another prominent character who also receives special abilities from the ceremony is one of Spider-Man’s biggest enemies, Norman Osborn.

Cassandra’s fighting skills are inferior to those of Peter Parker, but she beats him in many other areas. For example, she can literally change other people’s minds by performing psychic surgery on them. Like Daredevil, being blind doesn’t limit Cassandra either since her clairvoyance ability enables her to be aware of what’s happening around her as well as far away.

Logan (Wolverine)

Wolverine clenches his fists in Marvel comics

One of the most powerful X-Men, Wolverine has grown to become one of the faces of Marvel. And his popularity is totally justified, given how powerful he is.

By making Logan die permanently, the movies made it seem like he wasn’t immortal, but he actually is. Logan’s death on screen was all tied to Hugh Jackman’s retirement from playing the character. In the comics, the hero resurrects just about every time he does but that’s not the only thing that’s cool about it. A mutant that has been classified by Nick Fury as Power Level 9 and labeled a “Severe Threat” by the Office Of National Emergency (O*N*E) is definitely not one to be taken lightly. And that is thanks to his retractable claws, contaminant immunity, and incredible strength.

Jean Grey

X-Men AXE Jean Grey Phoenix

Grey has mostly relied on the Phoenix Force for her immortality, but even without it, she has shown that she is able to resurrect herself. In Venomized #5, she even reconstructs her body out of psionic energy.

Classified as an Omega Level Mutant, there is a variety of things Grey can do easily. From telepathy to telekinesis to psychic siphoning, she is normally spoiled for choice when figuring out how to defeat an opponent or complete her mission. And thanks to her bond with the Phoenix Force, Grey has remained one of the strongest female Marvel characters through various iterations.

En Sabah Nur (Apocalypse)

Apocalypse as he appears in Marvel comics

In Uncanny X-Force #20, Nur gets recruited by the Celestials to take over as the new Apocalypse. He goes on to live for thousands of years, becoming one of the most-evil X-Men villains.

Thanks to Celestial technology and Techno-Organic Virus, resurrection is never a problem for Apocalypse but that’s only the most basic of his powers. The villain is shown to be above the ‘Class 100” strength hence he even manages to overpower a weaker Hulk in Incredible Hulk #456. Flight isn’t necessary for him either since he has teleportation powers. Moreover, his bio morphing ability benefits him greatly during fights as he can transform parts of his body into machinery and weapons.

Charles Xavier (Earth-905)

An image of Charles Xavier (Earth-905)

The familiar Charles Xavier from Earth-616 isn’t immortal but his Earth-905 counterpart is, something that happens when he comes into contact with the ruby at the ancient temple of Cyttorak. He is also villainous as he uses the X-Men to rule over humans for a long period of time.

Thanks to the ruby, Xavier has near limitless powers, which explains why controlling both humans and mutants becomes so easy for him. Because he can read minds within a 250-mile radius, he is easily able to identify traitors and those plotting against him. He also generates no fatigue toxins, thanks to the mystical energies of Cyttorak. This means he can fight for as long as it takes to defeat an opponent.

Dr. Bruce Banner (Hulk)

Hulk jumps above Planet Sakaar in Marvel comics

One of the most popular Avengers, Banner has appeared in many movies, TV shows, and comics over the years. His immortality first becomes apparent in the “Immortal Hulk” comic series where he resurrects a couple of times.

In terms of special abilities, few heroes measure up to Hulk. There’s a lot to admire about a superhero that can leap 1000 miles at 473 mph. With such abilities, he has been just as comfortable as those with the power of flight. Given his durability, it would take a lot to defeat him too. Hulk has been shown to withstand things that could instantly kill anyone else, including Human Torch's Nova Blast, which has a temperature of 1 million degrees Fahrenheit. Among the other incredible powers of the Incredible Hulk are extrasensory perception and disease immunity.

Galactus

Galactus in the comics standing as helicopters circle around him.

In Fantastic Four #16, it’s revealed that Galactus will live to see the end of the universe. Like Mr. Immortal, he is bound to meet the Sentience of the Cosmos at the end of time.

Though he is one of the Marvel villains not yet in the MCU, Galactus is extremely formidable. That’s because he can achieve any effect he desires by simply using the cosmic energy within him. Thanks to the energy he absorbs from planets, most of the powers possessed by other heroes and villains are available to Galactus too. With such powers, introducing him into an MCU era where some powerful Avengers are already gone would prove quite the challenge.
