A new featurette from Marvel Studios' next Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law reveals how Jennifer Walters gets Bruce Banner's superpowers. Phase 4 has come a long way since its launch, with a focus on veteran characters as well as the introduction of new superheroes and villains from the Marvel Universe. From adventures revolving around the Multiverse to the streets of New Jersey, Phase 4 is slowly approaching its end. The last MCU film in the Phase 4 slate will be Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, while on Disney+, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law will be the final original Marvel series before Phase 5 kicks off in 2023.
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law focuses on Jennifer Walters, played by Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany, whose life as an attorney gets changed forever thanks to a very familiar cousin. After starring in several Avengers movies, Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner will be taking part in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law as he comes together with his cousin. The Disney+ original will follow Jennifer's origin story as she becomes She-Hulk, fighting side-by-side with Hulk. Unlike previous MCU shows and movies, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law will actually be breaking the fourth wall, as Jennifer engages with the audience in a similar fashion to the Deadpool movies.
With She-Hulk: Attorney At Law set to premiere on August 12, Marvel has debuted a new featurette for the MCU dramedy. Throughout the footage, a brief clip is shown of Jennifer getting Bruce's powers through an accidental intake of his blood. While it is shown very quickly, the featurette depicts Jennifer already starting to change as a result of Hulk's blood, which in turn transforms her into She-Hulk. This is what sets Jennifer on her journey as one of the latest superpowered individuals in the MCU.

While it's only shown for a couple of seconds, it does seem like She-Hulk: Attorney At Law is tinkering a little bit with how Jennifer gets Bruce's powers in the comics. In the comics, it's less of an accident, with Jennifer coming into contact with Bruce's blood as a result of the latter doing a blood transfusion to save his cousin's life after she was shot by Nicholas Trask's agents. She-Hulk: Attorney At Law seems to be taking a new approach by having Jennifer get her powers by accident.
Even though She-Hulk: Attorney At Law is making a slight change to her origin story, they are still maintaining Bruce's blood as the source of where Jennifer gets her powers. This way, it also takes out the victimizing of Jennifer's story, avoiding She-Hulk: Attorney At Law having to start on such a grim note where the titular heroine almost dies. It wouldn't be the first time for the MCU to change certain aspects of their leading heroes, with Ms. Marvel being a recent example. With less than 2 weeks to go before it premieres on Disney+, the MCU will soon show the world what's in store for She-Hulk: Attorney At Law.
