Fans of the Disney+ series, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, have already seen Jennifer Walters, aka, She-Hulk demonstrate some of her unique abilities. These include forming energy blasts by simply clapping her hands and switching between her two forms at will.

On the Marvel pages, Jennifer has had many powers, a couple of which have stood out more than the rest because of either their exclusivity or wow factor. And with the series still progressing, some of these abilities might just be seen in the live-action version of the character.

Power-Lending

She-Hulk argues with Weezie over her powers in the comics

After being trained by the Ovoid alien race in Sensational She-Hulk #45, Jennifer acquires the ability to switch her powers and characteristics with other women. She is, therefore, able to live a normal life whenever she does this.

Ordinarily, being a Hulk isn’t such a stressful thing for Jennifer because she can control when she turns. However, there have been occasions when she desired to walk around without the burden of being a superhero. Through the training by the Oviod race, her wish thus turns into a reality. Unfortunately, lending out powers comes with its disadvantages. When Jennifer once passes on her abilities to Weezie, she refuses to return them, leading to a feud between the two.

Identity Concealment

After one of the most powerful Marvel sorcerers, Scarlet, Witch casts a hex on her in She-Hulk (Vol 2) #8, people are unable to recognize She-Hulk as Jennifer. Sadly, the side effects become too much that she requests Doctor Strange to reverse the power.

Identity concealment has always been important for many superheroes as it allows them to live peacefully as civilians whenever they aren’t saving the world. It’s something Jennifer hasn’t always been able to enjoy since she tends to be She-Hulk even in the courtroom. Sadly, when she finally gets the chance to roam around freely like Bruce Wayne or Peter Parker, it backfires again.

Fourth Wall Awareness

She-Hulk breaks the fourth wall

From The Sensational She-Hulk #50 going forward, Jennifer becomes aware that she is a comic book character. This results in many incredible fourth-wall -breaks in She-Hulk comics.

The beauty of Jennifer’s fourth-wall-breaking ability doesn’t lie in the actual awareness but in how she does it. In various comic issues, she has been spotted doing ridiculous things such as walking on top of pages with ads or tearing up other comics. The ability has also made her the perfect critic for her comics and Marvel as a whole.

Increased Gamma Radiation Absorption And Emission

Initially, Jennifer can control gamma radiation in the same way as her cousin, Bruce. But when she gets exposed to Eson the Searcher's cosmic energy in Avengers (Vol 8) #2, this ability doubles.

Jennifer’s increased gamma absorption and emission powers come with some form of empowerment too. She stops going by the name She-Hulk and simply becomes known as Hulk. It’s one of the rare moments where she also grows to be the same size as her cousin Bruce. With an upgrade in powers comes an upgrade in lovers too. Jennifer also begins dating Thor, resulting in one of the comic-exclusive Marvel couples that are quite adorable.

Durability

In Marvel Universe (Vol 2) #11, it’s revealed that Jennifer can withstand temperatures ranging from -180 F to 3,000 F, as well as direct hits by field artillery shells.

Given the number of highly dangerous situations superheroes find themselves in, durability is one of the most important things for them. The temperature range that Jennifer can operate in means she can survive just about any kind of disaster, making her a very reliable hero in terms of crisis.

Superhuman Leaping

Jennifer can leap to heights of at least 700 feet and a surface distance of at least 1,500 feet. As such, she gets just about the same experience as superheroes that fly.

Fans of She-Hulk Attorney At Law have already seen Jennifer leap from the bottom of a cliff in Mexico back up. But that’s not nearly as impressive as what she does in the comics. For example, in She-Hulk (Vol 2) #7, she leaps from downtown New York to the Rikers Island penitentiary where Starfox is being held captive.

Gamma Bomb

Jennifer is a walking gamma bomb. In Avengers #8, it’s stated that she can cause explosions far greater than Hulk.

From a safety perspective, it’s not a particularly good power for Jennifer to have because the explosions she causes are accidental. This means she can harm others without intending to do so, something that happens when she is with The Thing and Invisible Woman. The ability also makes her a little similar to one of the best characters in The Boys, Soldier Boy.

Cotati Abilities

Blade and She-Hulk_Avengers #37

In Empyre #5, Jennifer’s powers quadruple when she becomes possessed by a member of the Cotati alien race. While in this form, she almost kills The Thing with her hands and easily destroys Invisible Woman’s force field.

A Cotati-possessed She-Hulk turns out to be way more malicious than any other version of the character that’s very been seen. But the villain turn is a welcome break from a character that never seems to do no wrong. Moreover, it’s part of Marvel comics tradition to turn a hero bad at least once.

Advanced Gamma Mutate Physiology

As is the case with Bruce, Jennifer can turn into a green, larger, and stronger version of herself. But unlike Bruce, she still maintains her intelligence when this happens.

This has been seen in the series too but things are much more interesting in the comics Because Jennifer gets to win way more cases in her She-Hulk form and even form meaningful relationships, something Bruce Banner is often unable to do.

Telepathic Immunity

She-Hulk grabs a guy by the collar as Invisible Woman looks on in a Fantastic Four comic.

As revealed in Hulk (Vol 2) #30, Jennifer is immune to all kinds of telepathic powers. This means even the lies of Professor X cannot get to her mind.

Most popular heroes have fallen victim to mind-control at some point but luckily for Jennifer, she doesn’t have to worry about that. How and when she acquires her immunity is a mystery but it should be presumed it all comes when she becomes She-Hulk.
