Warning! This article contains major spoilers for She-Hulk's finale.She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is officially over and ended in a completely unique way for the MCU, marking it as the most purely different Disney+ finale to date. She-Hulk's final episode started out fairly conventional to Marvel Studios' other finales, picking up the pieces of Jen's She-Hulk rage at the end of last week's episode. Unfortunately for her, Jen can legally no longer transform into She-Hulk similar to Emil Blonsky's parole hearing ruling and has to move in with her parents after being fired from her job.

However, a seemingly harmless trip to Blonsky's retreat is when She-Hulk's finale completely switches up a gear. Everything comes to a head, with Jen finding She-Hulk's villains, Intelligencia, the group's leader, the Abomination himself, and Pug and Nikki all inside the barn at Blonsky's retreat. Things get even crazier when Titania, Bruce, and an altogether new Hulk show up and chaos ensues. This all then turns into a meta, fourth-wall-breaking, deep dive into the Marvel Studios formula in which Jen truly reminds everyone what she has been saying this entire time: this is her show.

She-Hulk's HulkKing Identity Reveal Destroys Fan Theories (& Makes More Sense)

she-hulk and todd

Before all of this though, the true identity behind Intelligencia's HulkKing is revealed to almost no one's surprise. When Jen enters Blonsky's barn, she is met with Abomination as well as a horde of very angry incel men screaming towards someone obscured from Jen's vision. When Abomination moves, Jen is confronted by the HulkKing himself: Todd. Todd has been a recurring character throughout She-Hulk, introduced originally in episode 4. That episode began planting the seeds of Todd's true identity, with his invasive, personal questions directed at Jen and her abilities. This was only furthered by Todd's pathetic, creepy attempt at trying to seduce Jen in She-Hulk episode 8, with Jen's rejection of this only contributing to his misplaced anger towards the women of the world. Todd/HulkKing's whole deal is simply to use Jen's blood to give himself superpowers, stating he earned them where Jen was handed them.

This reveal completely debunked any fan theories about Red Hulk, the Leader, and Intelligencia's more comic-book-accurate adaptation being part of She-Hulk. This is likely to upset a lot of fans who built up their expectations of HulkKing's identity without checking them before the finale, despite making a lot more sense. Todd's identity as the man behind Intelligencia fits with the tone of the show as a legal comedy, instead of having a giant Marvel-esque battle with a huge new villain. Todd being HulkKing reflects the show's tone and style, and perfectly fits the overall story of She-Hulk that never strayed outside its own lawyer-procedural-based world.

Why She-Hulk's Ending Is A 4th Wall Joke Mocking The Entire MCU

Jen Walters KEVIN MCU

Similar to Todd's reveal as HulkKing, the sequence involving Jen traversing Disney+, traveling into the "real world," and talking to KEVIN fits perfectly as the ending of the show. The entirety of the show up to this point has been a meta, self-aware reflection of the MCU, despite She-Hulk being an MCU story in and of itself. For the most part, the show has been completely unencumbered by wider MCU events outside the brief cameos that even then were only used within the context of the show. Including a giant, explosive brawl featuring Titania, Hulk, Abomination, and Todd-Hulk would have gone against everything this show has been about from the start: Jen's life. Jen mocking this, and the state of other MCU show's finales to KEVIN (a hilariously self-aware robotic Kevin Feige), is a perfect way for Jen to quite literally take back control of her own story and life.

Who Is Hulk's Son, Skaar?

Skaar MCU She-Hulk

Despite all of Jen's fourth-wall-breaking escapades, She-Hulk still remembered to set up some big events for the future of the MCU with none being bigger than the introduction of Hulk's son, Skaar. At the end of the episode when Jen introduces Matt Murdock to her family, Bruce makes an unexpected return from space with an even more unexpected passenger: his son. Bruce introduces his son to the Walters as Skaar, a character known from Marvel Comics. In the comics, Skaar was birthed during Bruce's time on Sakaar, a storyline very loosely adapted as part of Thor: Ragnarok. That being said, Skaar's introduction to the MCU and the unknown meeting of him and Hulk that happened offscreen during She-Hulk's run could hint at a proper Planet Hulk storyline coming to the MCU. This would introduce the origins of Skaar and Hulk's time off-world in its own project, with Marvel regaining the distribution rights for the Hulk in June 2023.

Are She-Hulk & Daredevil A Couple? What Will Their Future Be?

Jen Walters Matt Murdock MCU

As mentioned, one of the people in attendance at the Walters' family barbecue was Matt Murdock himself, hinting at Daredevil and Jen's potential future together. One of the highlights of the She-Hulk show was the entirety of episode 8 which introduced the Man Without Fear properly back into the MCU. One of the main aspects of She-Hulk episode 8 was Daredevil and She-Hulk's relationship, with Charlie Cox and Tatiana Maslany having electric chemistry with one another. This eventually led to the two sleeping together towards the end of the episode, leaving many wanting more of the couple and wondering when they would next be together. Well, She-Hulk episode 9 delivered, with Matt being introduced to Jen's family showing a potentially big step forward for the fledgling couple.

In terms of what their future together will be, it is unclear at this point. Daredevil is expected to appear in two upcoming MCU shows, Echo and Daredevil: Born Again. While it is unlikely that She-Hulk appears in the former, she could appear or at least be mentioned in the latter. However, with Born Again likely being set back in New York where Matt is based, She-Hulk's appearance is questionable. The two could engage in a long-distance relationship, though that could be tricky given the potentiality of other love interests for both characters in their respective hometowns. Regardless, the two have great chemistry together, and hopefully, Marvel Studios can come up with more ways of seeing them again on screen, potentially in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Wong & Abomination in She-Hulk's Post-Credits Scene Meaning

Wong in She-Hulk and The Abomination in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

She-Hulk episode 9 included something that has been missing from its last few episodes: a post-credit scene. This scene showed Blonsky back in his prison after breaking his parole terms due to his Abomination transformations, which could potentially set up Abomination's Thunderbolts appearance. However, despite Blonsky being sent back to jail for another 10 years, he isn't sticking around. The post-credits scene harkens back to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and She-Hulk's earlier episodes, with Wong returning to break Blonsky out of prison. This time, however, it is hinted at being more permanent than a brief stint at an underground fight ring. Blonsky takes his few belongings with him through Wong's portal, while quizzing the Sorcerer Supreme on Kamar-Taj's guest policy. This hints that Blonsky intends to serve out his time at Kamar-Taj, given She-Hulk episode 3's establishment of Wong's tendency to avoid United States law. This could set up Abomination's future in the MCU in a number of potential projects, especially given Wong's many links to so many facets of the MCU.

Will There Be A She-Hulk Season 2?

She-Hulk takes a selfie

All of this begs the question then, of whether there will be a She-Hulk season 2. The format, style, and tone of She-Hulk certainly make it the only Marvel Disney+ show that actually lends itself to further seasons. While other shows have been successful, and Loki for instance is getting a season 2 in 2023, She-Hulk's lawyer-comedy procedural format makes it the ideal candidate for another season, with Jen taking on more superhuman cases should she be rehired at her law firm. The other Disney+ shows in the MCU have often felt like movies stretched out over six episodes, besides WandaVision, often telling stories that feel very one-and-done. While She-Hulk season 2 has not yet been confirmed, there is certainly potential for more stories in this style and pocket of the Marvel universe. After all, it is clear that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has a style completely different from anything else in the MCU, meaning a second season would be welcome for this reason above all others.
