As audiences continue to praise the character's return, Charlie Cox opens up about how She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's meta Daredevil hallway fight came to be. Cox made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as the blind vigilante with Netflix's Daredevil, in which he went up against the likes of Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, Jon Bernthal's Punisher and Wilson Bethel's Bullseye. With the roster of Netflix shows being canceled following their deal with Marvel expiring, Cox's Daredevil future remained unclear until he returned for a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Following the celebrated brief appearance, Cox would return to the MCU once again for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, a return audiences had been anxious for until it came in episode 8, "Ribbit and Rip It," in which he was serving as the attorney of Leap-Frog, who was suing superhuman fashion designer Luke Jacobson over a faulty supersuit. Jacobson and Matt Murdock would ultimately win the case immediately, but Tatiana Maslany's She-Hulk would team up with Daredevil after she learns he's kidnapped Luke in the hopes of getting a new suit. Cox's Daredevil would make one more appearance in the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law finale, with he and Jen enjoying more time together, but one scene is standing out for audiences more than the rest.

While speaking with Marvel to discuss his franchise return, Charlie Cox broke down She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's meta Daredevil hallway fight. The actor praised creator Jessica Gao for her ability to deliver a subversive take on the iconic Netflix action sequence, and his first reaction to reading the script. See what Cox said below:

It's so cool. I read that. It was so clever. It's so clever, and it's good because it's cool because at least you've got some of it. It starts, so you get to feel like, oh, cool, we've got a hallway stunt fight scene. But then there's that excellent kind of drop-the-mic moment where She-Hulk comes into the room. That was so clever. Jessica Gao is amazing. I absolutely loved working with her. I thought her scripts were sensational, and it was a real pleasure.

How She-Hulk's Hallway Fight Compared To Daredevil's

Charlie Cox in Daredevil

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's Daredevil hallway fight scene had many fans of the Netflix series excited, as it gave Cox's MCU hero another chance to take on a large group of enemies by himself in a claustrophobic setting. Unlike its predecessors, however, the Disney+ show offered a meta twist on the action sequence, with She-Hulk bursting through the wall just as Daredevil seemed to be more outnumbered than normal, much to his chagrin, as he was aiming for a silent approach to infiltrating Leap-Frog's hideout. The scene not only worked to deliver some fan service of recreating one of the character's more iconic MCU moments, it also deepened the dynamic between Daredevil and She-Hulk for their budding romance.

While it may not have been as hard-hitting as the Netflix scenes, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's meta Daredevil hallways fight proved to be another great continuation of the trend Cox's original series set for the Netflix universe. Inspired by the iconic Oldboy scene, the hallway fight became a running motif in both Daredevil seasons 2 and 3, as well as The Defenders involving the whole roster of heroes involved in the crossover, and with Cox's character getting his own series yet again with Daredevil: Born Again, it will be interesting to see if the creatives behind it elect to bring it back. In the meantime, audiences can revisit She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's meta Daredevil hallway fight, and the rest of his arc in the series, with season 1 streaming in its entirety on Disney+.
