After a new clip finally revealed Charlie Cox's Daredevil in episode 8 of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, fans debate whether the hero's humor is out of character. Marking the first half-hour legal comedy MCU show to hit Disney+, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has impressed critics but proven continuously divisive among audiences. The series follows Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) as she attempts to balance her responsibilities as a successful lawyer with her newfound ability to transform into the superhero She-Hulk. In addition to repeated guest appearances from Tim Roth as a reformed version of Emil Blonsky, aka Abomination, it was revealed early on that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law would also feature Daredevil.Netflix's Daredevil quickly proved popular among fans, in large part due to Cox's performance as Matt Murdoch, aka Daredevil. Although the show was canceled after only three seasons, it was later made clear that Cox's version of the hero would return as part of the MCU. After a brief cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Cox surprised audiences by appearing in a trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. While some feel like this new version of Daredevil is too much of a departure from the version seen in Netflix's show, others have pointed out that Cox's Daredevil has never shied away from the odd funny line or moment of levity. Matt Murdock Has Plenty Of History Being Funny Before She-Hulk

In addition to Matt Murdoch frequently showing off a funny side in many of his original Marvel Comics runs, even Netflix's Daredevil show featured moments of levity. The show was often quite serious and featured pretty graphic violence during its many fight scenes, but Cox's Daredevil had a number of funny lines throughout its three-season run. In addition to a few one-liners dotted throughout, Murdoch's persona with his friends, Foggy Nelson (Elden Hensen) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), was light and the characters would often joke around.

It remains to be seen how the MCU version of Daredevil will differ from the version seen in Netflix's Daredevil, but most fans seem to agree that what's been shown off in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is not totally out of character. Outside of his dialogue, the new version of Daredevil is also noticeably more acrobatic and more heavily dependent on visual effects, which could end up proving more divisive than the character's humor. While not all fans are happy with Cox's more lighthearted version of Daredevil in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, many others are just clearly happy to have the character suited up and back in action after so many years.
