Matt Murdock made his proper debut as Daredevil in She-Hulk, and it has already made Daredevil: Born Again more exciting. After Charlie Cox surprised audiences with a small cameo in Spider-Man No Way Home, they were waiting patiently for his next MCU showing. That appearance was in She-Hulk episode 8, and it did not disappoint. Charlie Cox and Tatiana Maslany instantly had chemistry and turned in one of the best episodes of MCU television to date.

The Daredevil characterization was more light-hearted to fit with the tone of She-Hulk, but it was still in keeping with who Matt is as a character. This slight shift in tone could mean good things as the character moves into his new show in the MCU. If the Netflix series is anything to go off, Daredevil: Born Again will be much darker than She-Hulk. Moving from the light tone back to the more serious one could give the opening of the show more impact. Showing Matt in a darker and grittier environment than viewers are used to after the more fun tone with Jen can prove just how many layers he has as a character and how rich a performance Charlie Cox can deliver as Daredevil. On that note, if Marvel decides to go for more of a light tone at any point - and it will have the time to do so with 18 episodes in the first season - She-Hulk has already proved that the creatives will be able to nail the shift in tone, meaning audiences can rest easy knowing Daredevil is in good hands with the MCU.

Will She-Hulk Appear in Daredevil?Jen Walters and Matt Murdock

There were a few surprises in the She-Hulk finale, including the introduction of Hulk's son Skarr. Another nice touch was Matt Murdock turning back up. The short time he had in the episode just reinforced how good Cox and Maslany are when acting together, and might hint towards Jen making an appearance in Daredevil: Born Again. Before this, it wasn't clear how they would cross paths again after their encounter in episode 8, but this shows that they have kept in touch and makes a She-Hulk appearance more likely.

Having Jen show up in Daredevil makes a lot of sense. On the surface, it doesn't look like there are many projects that She-Hulk could appear in before a potential She-Hulk season 2, and with the talent that Maslany has, it would be a shame not to see her sooner rather than later. The contrast of Daredevil going into She-Hulk's world and then vice-versa should work well for both shows. Also, there aren't too many MCU couples at the moment, so having one as great as Matt and Jen continue will only be a positive moving forward.

Why Daredevil Going For A Lighter Tone Isn't A Bad ThingDaredevil smiling

The lighter tone of Daredevil shown in She-Hulk bodes well for the character moving forward into Daredevil: Born Again and beyond by showing that the MCU Daredevil will be able to fit right in with what has already been established for the universe and franchise. With the first season's 18-episode length, the team behind the series has plenty of time to explore multiple tones and faucets of Daredevil's life while still staying true to the character. Of course, the series is set to be more serious for the majority, but the odd lighter episode or moment could help balance the show as a whole, and help it fit into the wider franchise - helpfully setting up for Daredevil's future MCU appearances.
