DC's Shazam! has finally wrapped production, meaning an official costume reveal for the 2019 movie could be right around the corner. While there are several DC movies in development right now, only three have firm release dates, Shazam! among them. As it stands, DC die-hards are currently awaiting the first trailer for Aquaman - ahead of the movie's release in theaters at the end of the year - along with the first official photo of Zachary Levi in his Shazam! superhero getup.

Although several Shazam! set photos featuring Levi in his costume have now leaked online, the outfit should look significantly different (read: better) in the actual movie (once additional lighting and color corrections are made). For that reason, fans understandably want a proper look at Levi's superhero duds. Director David F. Sandberg has admitted that "plans changed" to reveal the Shazam! suit earlier this year, but now that filming is done an official reveal might not be too far out.

Sandberg has confirmed that filming on Shazam! is done, meaning the film will now head into its lengthy post-production phase. Aside from just being a superhero film, Shazam! is a movie filled with magic, a child who transforms into an adult, and a main character who flies and shoots lightning. As such, there's still a lot of work to be done on the movie. Nevertheless, principal photography has been completed, as Sandberg confirmed via Twitter and Instagram (see below).

With San Diego Comic-Con around the corner, it's possible the first Shazam! poster and teaser trailer will arrive as soon as July. The official suit might not happen before then, but Warner Bros. and DC would be wise to unveil it before this year's SDCC madness gets underway.

Along with a proper look at the costume and film itself, there's still a good bit about Shazam! that's a mystery. For instance, Shazam! added five new actors recently, and they're suspected to be the adult versions of Billy Batson's foster family. But rather than indicating the movie will jump forward in time, they seem to confirm Billy will share his powers with his siblings like he has in the comics.

The prospect of a whole group of superheroes in the Shazam! movie could seem overwhelming, but the whimsical and fantastical nature of Shazam as a character means the DC film franchise has an opportunity to explore some new thematic territory here. (Who knows, Shazam! could even feature a talking tiger.) At the very least, it will just be nice to get a proper look at Levi suited up as Shazam! himself.
