Rachel Zegler's Shazam! Fury of the Gods finally speaks in a new TV spot and confirms a major DC fan theory. While the DCEU is getting closer to its end, Warner Bros. Discovery still has a few films coming out before the new DC Universe begins. One of them is Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which will continue the adventures of Billy Batson and his adoptive family after the 2019 installment. Following their battle against Dr. Sivana and the Seven Deadly Sins, the Shazam Family is about to face a trio of trouble. Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be the first 2023 DCEU movie, followed by The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. One of the new DCEU players is Zegler's character, who is one of the Daughters of Atlas, based on Greek mythology. The final Shazam! Fury of the Gods trailer was dropped last month, but continued shielding the real identity of Zegler's character. With TV spots rolling out for the Shazam! sequel, a new TV spot, as shared by David F. Sandberg, gives a closer look at Zegler's character.

Unlike previous footage, this is the first time the West Side Story star speaks in a Shazam! Fury of the Gods promotional video. After a lot of fan theories, the footage confirms that her character is over 6,000 years old.

Everything We Know About Rachel Zegler's Shazam 2 Character

While a lot of details have been kept under wraps, Zegler will be playing the Greek goddess Anthea. She is the youngest sister of the Daughters of Atlas, which consists of Helen Mirren's Hespera and Lucy Liu's Kalypso. The previous Shazam! Fury of the Gods trailers made it clear Hespera and Kalypso will have far more problems with the heroes than Anthea. Whether or not Anthea will turn on her sisters remains to be seen.

In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, the director teased that Zegler's character has a few twists along the way. While this is speculative, it might be that Anthea will actually not have an antagonistic relationship with the Shazam Family. Trailers have teased the idea that she and Freddie Freeman will have some type of connection through Shazam! Fury of the Gods. It wouldn't be shocking if Anthea is a crucial player in perhaps stopping the larger conflict between the two sides.

With Shazam! Fury of the Gods gearing up to be a bigger installment than the first film, it will be intriguing to see what the future of the franchise is after this movie. As James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Universe is mostly going to start from scratch, it remains to be seen if anyone from the Shazam! film series will carry over. Hopefully, depending on how Shazam! Fury of the Gods performs commercially and critically, their time may not be over yet in the DC realm.
