Rachel Zegler posts Shazam! Fury of the Gods cast photos following the film's release date change. Released in 2019, Shazam! proved to be a hit with audiences and critics alike. The film, which is directed by David F. Sandberg, tells the story of a young boy who discovers superpowers that allow him to turn into the adult superhero Shazam. Shazam! earned over $366 million at the box office and it was announced not long after the film's release that a sequel was in development.

With Zachary Levi starring once more as the titular hero, the sequel will also see the return of Jack Dylan Grazer, Ross Butler, Asher Angel, Faithe Herman, D.J. Cotrona, Adam Brody, Grace Fulton, Meagan Good, and Marta Milans, among others. Last year it was announced that Zegler, who recently appeared in West Side Story, would also be joining the cast of Shazam! Fury of the Gods, along with Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu. In a massive shakeup for DC's release schedule, it was recently announced that seven major DC movies, including the Shazam! sequel, would be moved from their original dates. Initially slated to release in June of 2023, Shazam! Fury of the Gods will now release in December of this year.

In a new series of images posted to Twitter, Zegler is seen hanging out with some of her Shazam! Fury of the Gods co-stars. The caption is a riff on a well-known Fast & Furious quote, reading, "I don't got friends. I got shazamily." In the photos, Zegler can be seen posing with Liu, Mirren, and several other Shazam! Fury of the Gods co-stars. Check out Zegler's Tweet below:

In a reply to her own Tweet, Zegler also writes that she's "just really excited now" and that "life is cool." Zegler has confirmed her Shazam! character to be the younger sister to Mirren and Liu's characters and it's clear that she's already getting along well with her co-stars. In her reply, Zegler also writes, "stay mad," potentially a note to some of her detractors. Upon being cast in Disney's upcoming Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Zegler received some backlash on social media due to her being of Latin descent. Zegler's post makes clear, however, that, despite what a select group of people says about her online, she's having a great time.

The first Shazam! was something of a surprise hit and expectations are now high for the sequel. With a number of talented actors joining the cast and the return of Sandberg to the director's chair, Shazam! Fury of the Gods has the potential to be even better than the first film. Although hotly anticipated by fans, the recent release date change for the film puts it up against Avatar 2, which is sure to affect Shazam! Fury of the Gods' box office earnings. Regardless, it's clear that Zelger is quickly becoming a massive star, and, right now, she's just enjoying the ride. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is scheduled to release on December 16, 2022.
