The cast of DC Studios’ superhero sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods features both familiar actors like Zachary Levi and franchise newcomers like Lucy Liu playing a colorful array of characters. Helmed by returning director David F. Sandberg and written by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan, Shazam 2 is one of the final installments in the original DC Extended Universe before its James Gunn-helmed reboot. Shazam! Fury of the Gods revolves around the theme of family as Billy Batson and his similarly superpowered foster siblings, dubbed the “Shazam Family,” take on the Daughters of Atlas to prevent the end of the world.

The first Shazam movie was warmly received by critics and managed to gross over $366 million (via Box Office Mojo) in the same release window as Avengers: Endgame in April 2019. Shazam’s self-aware humor and lighthearted comedic tone marked a refreshing change of pace for the usually dark and dreary DCEU, Shazam 2 continues that tradition with more meta gags and lovable characters, brought to life by some of Hollywood’s most popular actors. From Rachel Zegler to Helen Mirren to Djimon Hounsou, the cast of Shazam! Fury of the Gods is full of recognizable stars.
