Shazam: Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg trolls fans with a poll asking them to pick their dream cameo for the DC sequel. Sandberg first joined the DCEU with last year's Shazam, a lighthearted adventure that felt like a spiritual successor to Tom Hanks' Big. The film introduced Billy Batson (Asher Angel) to the universe and explored his origin story following his sudden acquisition of godlike powers. In short, when he says the word "Shazam," he becomes a fully grown superhero (played by Zachary Levi). Shazam was a moderate success for the DCEU, and a sequel was soon greenlit.

At this stage, very little is known about the second Shazam, largely because it isn't slated for release until November 2022. At DC FanDome last month, Sandberg, Levi, and other cast members were on hand to confirm the film's title will be Shazam: Fury of the Gods. Beyond that, Sandberg revealed the film will have a greater focus on Billy's family now that they all have powers just like him. Fans are excited to see where Fury of the Gods will go, especially since it'll finally be moving past Billy's origin.

Sandberg is undoubtedly hard at work in preparing for Fury of the Gods, and he recently seemed to give fans the opportunity to make a pivotal choice for the film. He shared a poll on social media asking fans which DC character they most want to see in the sequel, with the options being Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and the bully trucker from Superman II (played by Pepper Martin). Fair warning to all those who put in a vote for a major DCEU character... it won't be for the person you want. No matter how many times you vote.

Yes, the poll always acts like someone is voting for the trucker. Honestly, this is a pretty amusing prank, even if some might be bummed that it isn't a serious poll. The first Shazam featured a half-cameo from Superman in the sense that his body was on screen, but Henry Cavill's face was not. Fans were a bit disappointed by this and still hope Cavill could appear in Fury of the GodsAt this point, however, it remains to be seen which DC characters (if any) will appear in the sequel.

One major contender is Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam, who is one of Shazam's biggest enemies in the comics. Johnson will make his DCEU debut in 2021 when his long-awaited solo film arrives, and it isn't clear if he'll then appear in Fury of the Gods. Regardless of whether he does, fans are thrilled by the prospect of any DC character joining forces with Billy and his family, though they might not be super overjoyed if it turns out to be the bully truck driver from Superman II.
