Earlier this week, Sharon Osbourne of The Osbournes hilariously butchered the names of rap Grammy nominees during the show's televised ceremony. The moment was the one point of levity in an otherwise heavy night of grieving for fallen athlete Kobe Bryant, who died in a tragic helicopter crash Sunday morning.

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards aired on CBS. Sharon Osbourne has been a co-host on the CBS daytime show, The TalkMany awards shows have a tradition of employing the help of the network's employees to present and even host high profile events and specialty programming. The Grammy's also have a longstanding tradition of mixing genres during performances, and sometimes, doing the same with presenters (Think: Little Big Town presenting Song of the Year with Motown legend Smokey Robinson). Sunday night's ceremony was one of the longest on record, lasting nearly four hours. Aside from the Osbournes' comedic relief, the night served as a tribute to NBA star Kobe Bryant who died tragically earlier that day, as well as fallen rap star and activist Nipsey Hussle, who was murdered in 2019.

Sharon, accompanied onstage by her rocker husband Ozzy Osbourne to present the Best Rap/Sung Performance at the 62nd Grammys, shared a few moments of painfully stilted banter before announcing the nominees. She read the teleprompter, and boy was it a hot mess! The cameras fixed on each of the nominees as Sharon began the task of announcing their names. First up was DJ Khaled. Sharon read his name, pronouncing it, "DJ Kah-leed." She received the biggest laugh when she named the next nominee: "Drip 2 Hard" featuring Lil' Baby and Gunna. Even the duo couldn't help but giggle. By the time she got around to Lil' Nas X, the "Old Town Road" rapper appeared thrilled to get the Sharon treatment. Check out Sharon reading out the nominees below (via MTV News).

The audience was in on the joke as well. Audible chuckles were heard with each nominee announcement. Sharon embraced her discomfort with the teleprompter, theatrically waving her hands and adding histrionics to her presenter duties. Fans immediately took to Twitter, live-tweeting every painful second. One viewer wrote: "Sharon Osbourne is only allowed to say rappers names from here on out," while another quipped, "y'all gotta have Sharon Osbourne host the BET awards I'm CRINE."

Sharon Osbourne at the Grammys was just hilarious. She's always been a ballsy version of the modern working mom, but she was anything but hip Sunday night. The Osbournes star's British accent running loose over various street monikers was the laugh everyone needed. It was also kind of each of the artists whose names were butchered to have a good sense of humor about it. These are the Grammy moments that keep viewers talking, so good on Sharon for having fun with it.
