Star of ABC's Shark Tank Kevin O’Leary was recently involved in a fatal boat accident in Ontario, Canada, that left one person dead. He and his wife were both on board during the collision.

O'Leary (aka "Mr. Wonderful") is known as the curmudgeon on Shark Tank, a reality competition show where budding entrepreneurs attempt to woo a group of panelists into investing in their business. Of the rotating panelists - which also include Barbara Corcoran, Daymond John, Robert Herjavec, Lori Greiner, and Mark Cuban - O'Leary is known for being cold and ruthless when it comes to business. He claims that he never stops working, even when vacationing at his lake house in Ontario, Canada. It was there that the millionaire recently got into a tragic boating accident.

Late on Saturday, August 24, O'Leary and his wife, Linda, were involved in a fatal boat accident that left one person dead and another critically injured. In a statement to TMZ, O’Leary explained that the boat he and his wife were on collided with a craft that had "no navigation lights on" and that "fled the scene of the accident." But the owner of the other vessel is accusing the O'Learys of fleeing. No charges have currently been filed. The reality TV star added that he was fully cooperating with local authorities to help with the ongoing investigation. He declined to make any further comments about what happened out of respect for the families that lost loved ones in the accident.

While O'Leary didn't share anything more, his rep told TMZ that Linda was driving the boat at the time of the accident, which occurred on Lake Joseph at around 11:30pm. They reportedly crashed into a larger vessel, going over its bow and striking the unidentified, 64-year-old male passenger in the head, killing him instantly. The vessel they struck had eight people on board. In addition to the death, another victim, a 48-year-0ld female passenger from Canada, is left with severe brain damage and is currently on a ventilator following the accident. The third passenger on O'Leary's boat was left with minor injuries and was briefly hospitalized. O'Leary's rep added that Linda passed a DUI test the night of the accident.

O'Leary and his wife - whose children, son Trevor and daughter Savannah, were not involved in the accident - were vacationing at their lake house in Ontario at the time of the accident and remain in Canada for now. The investigation is currently ongoing, so it could be a while before anyone knows what actually happened on the lake that night. The Shark Tank star hasn't said anything further about the incident, other than his thoughts are with the families of those killed and injured.
