The first look at Charlie Hunnam from Sons of Anarchy's character in the upcoming Apple TV+ show, Shantaram, has been revealed. Shantaram, created by Eric Warren Singer and Steve Lightfoot, is based on a novel with the same title by Gregory David Roberts. The show and novel are both about an Australian bank robber named Lin (Hunnam) who ends up in India after fleeing from the law. While Hunnam is primarily known for playing Jax in Sons of Anarchy, he's also known for his film work, like the murder mystery he recently starred in with Mel Gibson, Last Looks.

In the background of the image, there are decrepit buildings and a dirt road. Since Sons of Anarchy wrapped, Hunnam has mostly been acting in features, and was recently cast in Rebel Moon, Zack Snyder's new movie. So Shantaram represents a big comeback into the TV world for Hunnam, who hasn’t had a television role since Sons of Anarchy. Interestingly, there seem to be some parallels between Hunnam’s character in Sons of Anarchy and his character in Shantaram - Hunnam appears on a motorcycle in the still from Shantaram, and Hunnam’s character Jax on Sons of Anarchy is known for riding a motorcycle. When the series premieres October 14 on Apple TV+, fans of Hunnam’s can find out more about his character on Shantaram.
