Dancing With The Stars contestants were excited to see Alan Bersten step in when Val Chmerkovskiy contracted COVID-19, but contestant Shangela happily welcomed Val back to set. Val and his celebrity partner Gabby Windey from The Bachelorette received a 46 out of 50 during Michael Bublé week, and they were excited to perform an Argentine Tango to Ed Sheeran's "Shivers" during Halloween Night. Unfortunately, Val had to spend the week at home quarantining while Gabby danced with Alan. Luckily, the two made it through to the next round, and Val and Gabby will reunite on the dance floor for 90s night.

Val got a special welcome back from his DWTS costar. Shangela ran into Gabby and Val on their way to rehearsals and was excited to see that the DWTS pro was COVID-negative and ready to compete during week 8. "Baby, the folks are rehearsing," The RuPaul's Drag Race alum said as she filmed Gabby and Val arriving to set. "The triumphant return," Shangela added as she focused the camera on Val. The star joked that Val couldn't handle some wind in Los Angeles without getting sick. Val admitted it's because he doesn't have Shangela's curly hair to protect him before pulling off his hat to reveal his own curly hair. The star then walked off as Val and Gabby headed to rehearsals.

Can Shangela & Gleb Top Their DWTS Halloween Night Performance?

Shangela and Gleb Savchenko on DWTS Halloween Night

On Halloween night, Shangela scored her first 40 out of 40 and fell to the floor in excitement. The star danced with her partner Gleb to Taylor Swift's 2017 hit "Look What You Made Me Do." The orchestra slowed down the song for Shangela and Gleb as they performed a creepy doll performance perfect for the horror-themed evening. For 90s night, the pair will dance the Samba to the iconic Spice Girls song, "Spice Up Your Life." Later, they'll go up against Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart for the first Relay of the season. The pairs will perform the Cha-cha-cha while the other couples will perform the Samba.

The DWTS couples were split into two groups for Halloween night, Team Wicked and Team Scream. Shangela and Gabby were both on Team Wicked with their partners but unfortunately came in second place. Alan did an excellent job, and fans had a really good time watching him dance with Gabby. They were the perfect fit, and it was great that Alan got another opportunity to dance with a celebrity partner for DWTS season 31 after being voted off the week before with Jessie James Decker. However, fans still missed seeing Val's face on their screen, and they can't wait for his 90s night return.

Each dancer is crucial to the show, and when one goes home, fans can feel their absence. During Halloween night, Val's sense of humor and dynamic with Gabby was missed, even though fans were happy to have Alan back. For 90s night, Gabby and Val are dancing the Samba to "Livin' La Vida Loca" by Ricky Martin. It will be fun to see them dance to an upbeat song after their last appearance together was to Michael's ballad "Home." Val is certainly making an exciting return with his and Gabby's song choice. Hopefully, the two are making up for lost time by working the hardest they have all season in rehearsals so they can blow judges away with their DWTS 90s night routine.
