A forgotten Ant-Man tease could be resolved in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be introduced to a brand new hero in Phase 4 with Simu Liu playing the Master of Kung Fu. Although most audiences may not be familiar with the character, the MCU has already planted seeds for the movie. Shang-Chi will introduce the real version of The Mandarin (played by Tony Leung) and finally explore the Ten Rings organization.

The Ten Rings have been part of the MCU since the very beginning, as they were responsible for kidnapping Tony Stark in Iron Man. The group also helped Whiplash in Iron Man 2 and broke Trevor Slattery out of prison in the Marvel One-Shot All Hail the King. Through these small moments, many are excited to see what Marvel Studios does with the Ten Rings when they are given a much more significant role. It is possible that Shang-Chi could build on some of these previous teases (such as by having Ben Kingsley return as Slattery), but there's another Ten Rings tease from Ant-Man that the Phase 4 film could finally resolve.

Near the end of 2015's Ant-Man, Darren Cross is ready to sell his Yellowjacket tech to the highest buyer. Thanks to former SHIELD agent Mitchell Carson, Cross finds a suitable home for his weaponized take on the Ant-Man suit. But, Cross plans to keep the Yellowjacket Particles so the buyer has to pay him for more in the future. A small Easter egg revealed that the group Carson was working for was at the very least associated with the Ten Rings, as one of the henchmen had the organization's logo tattooed on his neck. When Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne try to stop the deal, a fight breaks out and ends with Carson fleeing the scene with the Yellowjacket Particles. So far, the MCU has yet to pay off this tease, but Shang-Chi could solve it.

What happened to Carson and the Yellowjacket Particles was one of the biggest unanswered questions left after Ant-Man. It was widely believed that the answer would come in Ant-Man and the Wasp, but that didn't happen. The implication that Carson was working for the Ten Rings now allows Shang-Chi to reveal what happened next. Unless Peyton Reed has plans to use this tease to set up the plot of Ant-Man 3, it would appear that Shang-Chi is the more natural fit to pay off a Ten Rings-related tease.

If Shang-Chi does tackle this unresolved Ant-Man tease, it will be fascinating to see how the two movies will be connected. It could be revealed that the Mandarin or one of his subordinates killed Carson and obtained the Yellowjacket Particles that way, or that Carson finished the job and was rewarded for a successful delivery. As for what the Mandarin and the Ten Rings could want with the Yellowjacket Particles, it could be as simple as adding another weapon to their arsenal. Of course, there's also the chance that Shang-Chi could further tease the answer to this Yellowjacket tease by revealing the Ten Rings never received it. But, now that the Ten Rings are getting a larger role in the MCU, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is the perfect place to address the tease in some way.
