Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings set up multiple potential Marvel Cinematic Universe spinoff shows that could now be in development. Marvel Studios started to develop TV shows a few years ago for Disney+ that focus on supporting characters from the movies or new heroes who otherwise might not lead a solo film. The success of these MCU shows has increased their expected output, with plenty of new spinoffs from recent and upcoming movies are already in the works. This now includes a mysterious Shang-Chi spinoff MCU show.

It's been revealed that in addition to returning to write and direct Shang-Chi 2, Destin Daniel Cretton is working with Marvel Studios on a secret Disney+ spinoff. The lack of details on Shang-Chi's spinoff show leaves room for plenty of potentially exciting stories to be told. The movie focused on Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) reconnecting with his father, Wenwu (Tony Leung), and battling for the power of the Ten Rings weapons. It was through this story that the MCU expanded once again to dive into underground martial arts tournaments, powerful criminal enterprises, and the mystical side of the universe - which brought new dimensions, magical creatures, and added a dragon to Phase 4.

With so many ideas woven into Shang-Chi, there is great potential for a Disney+ spinoff show. Shang-Chi's ending and post-credits might have even directly set up what the MCU series could be about in addition to teasing the upcoming sequel. Since Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, and Destin Daniel Cretton haven't provided any direct teases of what the show will be, it is still the subject of great speculation. Here is every potential Shang-Chi spinoff show the MCU could receive.

Ten Rings

The most obvious candidate to receive a spinoff show after Shang-Chi is Xialing's new-look Ten Rings organization. Shang-Chi's post-credits scene directly set up this possibility by showing Xialing in Wenwu's old headquarters and making some changes instead of closing it down for good. She sits on the throne now with Razorfist and Jon Jon by her side and a legion of male and female fighters under her command. Since Shang-Chi confirmed that the Ten Rings will return, an entire Disney+ show dedicated to them would be a great way to pay off that tease. It'd give Meng'er Zhang a chance to lead a show after stealing scenes in Shang-Chi and give Marvel adequate time to show how she transforms the organization. If the series happens, it could play a huge role in the MCU's future, as it has the potential to introduce The Hand or even make Elektra part of the Ten Rings.

Agents of Atlas

There's a chance Shang-Chi could plant the seeds for an Agents of Atlas spinoff show too. Shang-Chi is a member of the predominantly Asian superteam in the comics led by Jimmy Woo, who Randall Park plays in the MCU. There was much speculation before Shang-Chi's release that other Agents of Atlas members or even Jimmy Woo would cameo, but that didn't happen. However, the movie did secretly set up the Korean Avenger known as White Fox, who is one of Shang-Chi's potential future teammates. A possible Agents of Atlas series could be a huge draw for Disney+ if the MCU's Asian heroes assemble to take on a bigger threat. Otherwise, it could be a chance for Marvel Studios to make Disney+'s version of Agents of SHIELD essentially where Jimmy Woo, Shang-Chi, and others look into strange events around the world.

Ta Lo Series

Another possible Shang-Chi spinoff show that could come is one focusing on Ta Lo and the people living there. Ta Lo is the magical dimension that is the setting for Shang-Chi's finale where the Great Protector lives and the Dweller-in-Darkness was imprisoned. Michelle Yeoh's Ying Nan, who is Shang-Chi and Xialing's aunt, is the most prominent character from Ta Lo featured in Shang-Chi, although her sister and Shang-Chi's mother is also from there. A Ta Lo series would give Marvel the opportunity to further explore the threats this dimension has faced, as the movie teased many tried to free the Dweller-in-Darkness before Wenwu. This is also an opportunity to dive deeper into all aspects of Ta Lo's mythology and show what the future looks like for people there now that the Dweller-in-Darkness is defeated.

Wenwu Prequel

An exciting potential Shang-Chi spinoff show could revolve around Wenwu. Tony Leung's powerful conqueror resonated with audiences throughout the movie, so it would make sense that Marvel would want to bring him back. That is more complicated after Wenwu's sacrifice in Shang-Chi's ending, but Disney+ gives the studio an opportunity to explore more of his past. A prequel Wenwu show could focus on his rise to power throughout history, how he acquired the Ten Rings, and other details from his time as The Mandarin. Since Wenwu had eternal life thanks to the Ten Rings, his show could take place at any point over the last thousand years of the MCU. This makes the series uniquely qualified to explore various parts of the MCU mythology, which could in turn set up future properties.

Wong and the Masters of the Mystic Arts

Benedict Wong in Shang-Chi

It would also be great to see Wong get a spinoff show after his appearance in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He was only briefly shown in the movie, but his time fighting with Abomination and then recruiting Shang-Chi tease how exciting Wong's life really is. With appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness also confirmed for Phase 4, Marvel could set the stage for his solo Disney+ show in many ways. Wong's spinoff series could focus on his position with the Masters of the Mystic Arts possibly training a new generation of Marvel sorcerers or highlight Wong's solo adventures to protect Earth.

Iron Fist

Marvel could also create an Iron Fist show as a Shang-Chi spinoff. There was great speculation leading up to the film that Danny Rand or another version of Iron Fist could appear in the movie. While that didn't happen, Shang-Chi quietly laid the foundation for how it could happen. Ta Lo was mentioned as one of many ancient mystical cities, so it could be connected to K'un-Lun - the mystical hidden city where Iron Fist comes from. It also helps that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings properly brought dragons to the MCU, as Danny Rand or another character only acquires the Iron Fist powers by defeating the powerful dragon Shou-Lao the Undying. An Iron Fist show could focus on the origin of the MCU's version of the hero or spinoff from Shang-Chi 2 if The Living Weapon appears there first.
