It's official, the first trailer for Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings debuted today, and the reaction on Twitter was instantaneous. The trailer gave fans their very first look at this new MCU franchise based on the long-running Marvel Comics superhero, and the best reactions on the social media site conveyed the general positive vibe about the trailer.

Some Twitter reactions commented on the new trailer by referencing other MCU or Marvel-related properties, while others pointed out the amazing action and visuals. And as always, some speculated on the mystery of the trailer and the ways that Shang-Chi could shake up the MCU forever.

Sad Iron Fist

Twitter user @NeoGameSpark got a lot of likes by reflecting on how Iron Fist from the Marvel Netflix suite of streaming series would react. Iron Fist is both sad and a bit embarrassed in the meme they chose, which probably reflects the general way fans regard the Iron Fist series.

The first major martial artist in the Marvel screen franchise is generally considered the weak link among the Netflix shows, in terms of action and story. But there is always the possibility Iron Fist could be saved in the MCU going forward.

All The Marvel Stans

User @natashasmygem used a great meme from The Office to show their love for the new trailer. 'Every Marvel stans rn' is Michael, holding hands with Jim and Pam who have been replaced in the image by the collective posters for several of the MCU's current and upcoming properties.

Among them are Black Widow, which also had a big reaction on Twitter for its latest trailer, WandaVision, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, and Loki, which will debut on Disney+ in June.

Looks Different Than Anything Else

Twitter user @wandasquinn pointed out how the new trailer makes the movie look different from anything the MCU has done to this point. The imagery and colors present in the first Shang-Chi trailer are definitely unique, especially in the costumes, like with the Death Dealer.

The color palette is very diverse and strong, with neon purples in city settings contrasting with the green and gold hues of a forest. The final movie could definitely end up being one of the most visually interesting of the MCU.

Public Transportation Besties

User @stxrkmarvel makes a connection between Shang-Chi and another major Marvel hero, Captain Marvel. In the new trailer. Shang-Chi battles some enemies on a bus. This isn't unlike a scene from the first Captain Marvel movie, where Carol Danvers tracks a Skrull agent onto a subway train in Los Angeles.

@stxrkmarvel considers Shang-Chi and Carol Danvers besties for being committed to fighting crime on public transportation. The two heroes may have the chance to fight side by side in a future Avengers movie, as both are currently members of the team in the comics.

Amazing Fight Choreography

The MCU is well known for its fight scenes, but Twitter user @photonsblast thinks that the fight choreography in Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings is already some of the best the franchise has ever done. S

hang-Chi is shown fighting in several different battles in the movie, including against one of the primary villains, the Death Dealer. He also faces off against numerous combatants on board a moving bus as Awakfina, who plays the character of Katy in the new movie, watches in awe.

That Guy From Spider-Man

One of the funnier reactions on Twitter points out the similarity between a background character in the trailer and a minor character from Spider-Man: Homecoming. User @spideysnews suggests that the 'You're that Spider-Guy' man from the Spidey movie is the same as a man sitting on the bus in the Shang-Chi trailer.

They certainly look very similar, which could lead to a funny moment if the movie decides to acknowledge that these two characters are actually one and the same.

Deep MCU Easter Eggs

Shang-Chi is a new character for the MCU, but he appears to have deep connections to MCU lore. Twitter user @UpToTASK reminds readers that the movie is connected to past Marvel movies, in particular, the first Iron Man from 2008, which introduced the Ten Rings organization.

It appears the movie will feature the real Mandarin and not the 'fake' one from Iron Man 3. In the comics, Shang-Chi's father is a villain named Zheng Ze who runs a secret criminal network, but he is unrelated to The Mandarin.

Looking Forward To The Death Dealer

Twitter user @ShangChiBR highlights the Shang-Chi vs. The Death Dealer scene from the trailer. This is sure to be one of the hallmark fights of the entire movie. In the comics, the two have squared off as well, fighting in the Death Dealer's first appearance back in Shang-Chi: Master Of Kung Fu #1 in 2009.

The Death Dealer wasn't a part of the Ten Rings organization in the comics and doesn't have a huge narrative after his introduction, but he appears to be a major factor in the movie and one fans are definitely looking forward to.

What Is Going On?

The Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings trailer didn't offer the same amount of fodder for speculation as the many alternate timelines of the recent Loki trailer, but there were still some curious moments. The biggest was pointed out by Twitter user @lulurmom_poke. In this brief scene, a huge wall of water erupts out at Shang-Chi.

It then slows down and seems to freeze in mid-air, allowing Shang-Chi to reach out and touch it with his hands. Shang-Chi doesn't have any superpowers of his own in the comics, but it's possible he develops some in the MCU.

Best Birthday Ever

By far the best reaction on Twitter was by Shang-Chi himself. Actor Simu Liu (@SimuLiu) reacted with an explosion of letters to the new trailer, which dropped on his birthday. Originally, Marvel Studios had seemed to only intend to release the new poster for the movie today and the trailer in a few weeks.

But in a birthday surprise, the official teaser dropped just a few hours later to Liu's delight. Liu got his start in movies as an extra on Pacific Rim and is now set to become one of the biggest stars in the world with Shang-Chi.
