There is no family quite like The Gallaghers. We are so used to watching family units on TV that are seemingly perfect and squeaky clean, so it's extremely refreshing when shows such as Shameless come along to prove the fact that we're all human and we all make mistakes. It also proves that no family is perfect. In fact, some families are far far from it. The series accurately portrays how messy real-life relationships can be and we will forever be grateful for its bluntness.
Luckily Shameless will be coming back for a 10th season, but until then, let's look at some of the funniest memes about our favorite South Side series.
10. WHAT COMES TO MIND WHEN WE HEAR "FRANK"
There is only one image that will ever come to mind when we hear the word "frank". We start picturing a scraggly middle-aged man in a beanie who's passed out drunk by the fridge. The man in question is none other than Frank Gallagher, aka the world's worst dad on the planet.
There is a reason the series is called Shameless and that is because Frank Gallagher is without a doubt the most shameless person on TV. He is constantly willing to screw over his entire family in order to keep a buzz going. Somehow he miraculously ended up with a bunch of kids that turned out to be okay. Perhaps this has to do with the fact that Fiona raised them far more than this man ever did!
9. DEBBIE GETS IT

It's hilarious to see the actress who plays the youngest Gallagher girl act silly, proving she couldn't care less what anybody thinks about her. Although we often would like to present ourselves in the best possible light (especially in front of our crush!) it is impossible for anyone to come across as perfect 24/7. Sometimes it's best to not take life so seriously and there's nothing wrong with allowing yourself to make funny faces that prove you don't always have to try so hard. Way to go, Debs!
8. WHY DO THEY JUST DISAPPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE?
List of things that always disappear: Keys. Socks. Remotes. Frank.
This is easily the most accurate thing we've seen all day. Sure, it sucks when you lose your keys and the remote (especially if a new episode of Shameless is on), but to have your own father just evaporate into of thin air every couple of days? Now that's rough.
Luckily the Gallaghers have only grown stronger from their father and mother's neglect. It has taught them to get by on their own and has made them more intelligent and fearless. Perhaps it even made the Gallagher siblings even closer.
7. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, WRITERS
Mickey's face pretty much sums it up for the rest of us.
There is nothing more frustrating on Shameless than watching the writers try to force chemistry between characters when it simply isn't there. There have been several romantic pairings on the Showtime series that failed to work for us because they just didn't have that necessary spark. This was especially true with Ian who would date several other guys that WEREN'T Mickey M. Why would the writers even bother adding these storylines to the plot when we darn well knew Mickey and Ian were gonna be end game? Don't even try writers! Don't even try!
6. THE RESEMBLANCE IS UNCANNY
It's honestly amazing how much this dog looks like Frank Gallagher. It's everything from the eyes to the face to the sour expression! Hopefully one day we can get a picture with actor William H. Macy alongside this adorable pup! Now that would be an epic pic. Although this little canine may look like the head of the Gallagher clan, there is a good chance he is not a raging alcoholic and he would most likely never abandon his family for drugs and liquor! At least, here's hoping...
5. GOTTA LOVE KEV...
Oh, Kev. There is no one else like him. He may be the size of a giant with muscles like Zeus, but once you get to know the guy you realize he's just a giant teddy bear. All he wants is to provide the best life possible for Vee and the kids. Sometimes he might be a tad slow in the noggin, but that doesn't mean he isn't brilliant in other ways! Plus, he's super fast at math. So what if he gets all the answers wrong? This guy is speedier than The Flash!
4. WE'D MAKE THAT FACE TOO IF FRANK WAS OUR FATHER
Emmy Rossum (who plays Fiona Gallagher) may be one of the most stunning actresses of all time, yet we can't deny the fact that her expression does tend to land in an almost permanent frown and we totally get it. If Frank was our father, we'd be frowning all the time as well!
It just comes with years of taking care of a rowdy family on the South Side of Chicago. She can't help it! Yet now that she has left that life behind her, she will most likely find herself refraining from that frowny face a whole lot more than before!
3. 'MEMBER WHEN FIONA WENT ON A "BAD BOY" SPREE?
Who remembers the handful of seasons when Fiona just couldn't seem to make the right choices with men? It was her own form of rebellion and self-destruction to escape the life she was forced into. She felt as though she didn't have a choice other than to raise the rest of her siblings as though she were a single parent. Ultimately, everyone has a choice, and she chose to take care of the kids because her parents made the choice not to. Yet nobody is perfect, and Fiona has the right to slip up.
2. *SCREAMS "CARL!!!" IN FIONA'S VOICE*

Carl Gallagher has always had trouble with the law, whether it be from working in the drug business or telling a judge in a courtroom to drop twenty pounds. It seems as though this is his coping mechanism and his method of survival formed from living on the South Side of Chicago. His words have definitely gotten him into trouble before and you can't say that he doesn't get it from his father! It's just all part of the "Gallagher way"...
1. AN ICONIC SOUTH SIDE MASTERPIECE
Don't act like you don't sing along whenever the theme song comes on. The opening theme for Shameless perfectly sums up the gritty vibe of the entire show from start to finish. If you'd prefer a show with prettier shots with more lavish lifestyles, we suggest you watch literally anything else on TV. What makes Shameless so wonderful is that it depicts real-life people who aren't constantly surrounded by glitz and glamor. We can see ourselves in these characters and we appreciate the fact that they are far from perfect. They're human! What more could you ask for in a series?
