With E3 2021 just getting started, developer Flying Wild Hog and publisher Devolver Digital let loose an incredibly bloody gameplay trailer for Shadow Warrior 3 that may give even DOOM Eternal a run for its money. Flying Wild Hog's first-person shooter series is no stranger to gore, of course; it's a staple of the brand, after all. Even the original teaser trailer for Shadow Warrior 3 boasted an almost hilarious amount of blood-soaked action.

The franchise follows the adventures of Lo Wang, an assassin skilled in the use of firearms, melee combat, and swords, all of which he uses when taking on demonic hordes. Interestingly, Flying Wild Hog's Shadow Warrior tales represent reimaginings of 3D Realms' classic 90s shooter of the same name. The newer iteration of the IP manages to stand on its own, though, providing experiences that cater to fans and newcomers alike. And it's looking as though the next installment will give players plenty of reasons to dive back in.

During Devolver Digital's E3 2021 showcase, the publisher unleashed the second official gameplay trailer for the eagerly-anticipated Shadow Warrior 3. It packed quite the punch, too, providing nonstop action complete with the bloodiest of kills - stuff that would make Doom Slayer clutch his pearls. At one point, Lo Wang grapples towards an enemy, then deftly kicks them into a spinning saw-like device. Not too longer thereafter, one quick blast from the hero's gun reduces a large demon to literal pieces. Check it out in the trailer below:

While Shadow Warrior 3's new trailer showcased plenty of show-stopping action, one key piece of information went without mention - a launch date. The video ended with confirmation of a 2021 release window, but when exactly fans can expect to get their hands on the title has yet to be specified.

E3 2021 still has plenty of surprises in store. On Sunday, June 13, Xbox and Bethesda will host their joint presentation, which could feature updates regarding the likes of Halo: Infinite and Starfield. Square Enix plans to hold its own event on the same day, followed by WB Game's Back 4 Blood presser. June 14 will play host to shows such as the Indie Showcase and Capcom event. Nintendo and Bandai Namco will round things out on June 15.
