Lara's struggles have been well documented in the recent Tomb Raider games, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider seems to be no exception. With Lara Croft herself left still asking questions, she seems to unleash a cataclysmic event that must then be solved, all the while navigating dangerous situations and using stealth to take down enemies wherever possible.

It definitely paints something of a different picture of Lara Croft this time around, with the character taking the role of a predator much like in earlier trailers released for the title. Meanwhile, the hints towards the game's larger plot will definitely have fans thinking about what Shadow of the Tomb Raider has in store for them when it launches later this year.

The new run of Tomb Raider games has definitely been one of the most impressive over the last couple of console generations, helping to bring gravitas back to a series that some felt had jumped the shark. Should Shadow of the Tomb Raider maintain this run of success, then it would be an unbelievable achievement from Crystal Dynamics, and one that will cement the franchise's place at the top tier of gaming once more. Fingers crossed that Shadow of the Tomb Raider proves to live up to these expectations.
