Netflix has released the first teaser for its Shadow and Bone series — revealing the loose release date in the process. The fantasy-adventure series was first announced in early 2019 and has since concluded filming. It is based on Leigh Bardugo's popular novels collectively known as the Grishaverse.

Posted on the official Youtube channel, Netflix unveiled an official teaser. The clip focused on beautifully realizing the mythological elements of the world. Most notably, Morozova’s Stag took center stage — the antlers of which are of great significance. A mysterious figure that is likely Alina Starkov was also glimpsed focusing her light-based powers as Ben Barnes' General Kirigan established a goal for them to change the world together. Shadow and Bone will reach screens in its entirety in April 2021. Check out the full teaser below:

But as she struggles to hone her power, she finds that allies and enemies can be one and the same and that nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. There are dangerous forces at play, including a crew of charismatic criminals, and it will take more than magic to survive."
