Brand new behind-the-scenes photos from Shadow and Bone season 2 have teased all six of the Crows together for the very first time. Based on the best-selling book series by Leigh Bardugo, Shadow and Bone tells the story of Alina Starkov, an incredibly powerful Sun Summoner who discovers that her ability could be the key to freeing her home from "The Fold," a terrifying force that manifests as a dark cloud containing the deadly Volcra creatures. While the first series largely followed the plot of the Shadow and Bone book trilogy when it was adapted for Netflix, one of the show's subplots followed that of one of Bardugo's other book series, which is also set in her "Grishaverse," called Six of Crows.

The first series saw Jessie Mei Li star as Alina, while The Punisher star Ben Barnes took on the role of General Kirigan, otherwise known as the Darkling. The series also introduced fans to five of the six Crows: Kaz Brekker (Freddy Carter), Inej Ghafa (Amita Suman), Jesper Fahey (Kit Young), Nina Zenik (Danielle Galligan), and Matthias Helvar (Calahan Skogman). The Crows are a group of cunning thieves and con artists. The sixth crow from the novels, Wylan Hendriks, did not appear in the first series, which left many fans eagerly anticipating a confirmed casting for the role following last summer's announcement that Shadow and Bone would be returning for a second season. This announcement came just last week after it was confirmed that Jack Wolfe would officially make up the Six of Crows.

Now, a number of the cast have shared some exciting behind-the-scenes photos that show the six Crows all together for the first time. Taking to Instagram, Wolfe shared a series of polaroids of the newly completed group, with Skogman, Galligan, Suman, Carter, Young, and Wolfe all pictured looking very happy. Wolfe also shared a couple of photos of himself and Young, one of which appears to be outside of a set trailer. The Twitter account @FilmUpdates also shared a sweet selfie of the six stars. The photos quickly gained a lot of attention, with many excited to see the actors together for the very first time. Check out the images below.

Wolfe is not the only exciting new addition to the cast of Shadow and Bone season 2, as it was also recently announced that Patrick Gibson will play Nikolai Lantsov, the son of the king of Ravka. Alongside him, Anna Leong Brophy and Lewis Tan will star as Heartrender twins Tamar Kir-Bataar and Tolya Yul-Bataar, respectively. Filming has now officially commenced on season 2, however, as of right now no dates have been confirmed for its release, though it is expected to come out later in 2022.

After a fair few months of silence when it came to updates on Shadow and Bone's second season, fans will likely be delighted with these rather exciting new photos. Now that production is officially underway, it won't be long until official imagery begins to make its way online, but many will likely be hoping for more fun teases from the Crows as they continue to film their scenes together. Seeing the six beloved characters for the very first time will likely have kicked all anticipation for the upcoming series into gear and fans can only hope that it isn't long until Shadow and Bone season 2 drops on Netflix.
