The final trailer for Sex Education season 3 teases what may be in store for Otis (Asa Butterfield) and Maeve's (Emma Mackey) relationship. With less than two weeks before new episodes of the British coming-of-age series drop, the streaming platform is ramping up its marketing for the show. Now, Netflix has dropped the official trailer for the next installment in the award-nominated project.

Premiering in 2019, Sex Education follows the lives of students and staff at Moordale Secondary School. It centers on Otis, the socially-awkward son of sex therapist Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson), who begins running an underground sex therapy business at school along with his friends, Maeve and Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), in season 1. The series quickly became one of the biggest hits for Netflix, with season 2 debuting a year later in 2020. The wait time for Sex Education season 3 has been longer, but now that it's almost here, loyal fans of the show are eager to learn what's next for the characters after the cliffhanger season 2 ending.

The offical trailer for Sex Education season 3 finally landed on Netflix's official YouTube channel, and it's chock-full of new footage from the upcoming episodes. There is a lot to unpack in the clip, including the progression of Eric and Adam's (Connor Swindells) relationship, as well as an apparent slew of changes to life at Moordale brought on by the arrival of Headmistress Hope Haddon (Jemima Kirke). However, fans are likely to be particularly curious about the brief glimpses the clip gives of Otis and Maeve, teasing the fallout of the season 2 finale. Watch it below:

Sex Education season 2 ended with Otis leaving Maeve a voicemail message confessing his real feelings for her, after harboring a secret crush on her for the first two seasons. Unfortunately, her new neighbor, Isaac (George Robinson) deleted the message before she could check it. Coming into the new term, it doesn't seem like the issue will be resolved right away, since Otis appears to be trying to convince himself that he no longer cares about Maeve. It's possible this is because he believes she knows his feelings and doesn't want to address them, leaving him to assume that she doesn't reciprocate. However, as viewers know, this isn't the case, and season 3 may be the season that the Netflix series finally brings the pair together.

After two seasons of the "will they, won't they" trope, it's time for Sex Education to give its Otis and Maeve a significant relationship upgrade. As engaging as viewers seemed to find watching the friends navigate their feelings towards each other, their patience appears to be wearing thin. So much so, in fact, that some argue that Otis and Maeve have become the least interesting relationship in the show. That may all be set to change in season 3, however, as it seems that fans are about to learn what's next for the characters' long-teased romance.
