HBO's Sex and the City is a series that has always been praised for its eccentric cast of characters. Ever since the series premiered, people around the world have been debating with their friends who is the Samantha of the friend group, who is the Carrie, who is the Miranda, and who is the Charlotte.

Yet what the series manages to do superbly is that it makes almost all of the supporting characters on the show just as fascinating as the main cast of women. With that being said, who are ten of the most captivating supporting characters on Sex and the City that we would have loved to see more of? Keep reading and find out for yourself!

ENID FRICK

Enid Frick is Carrie Bradshaw's editor at Vogue. Candice Bergen who perfects the role is able to portray an icy character who has no time for sugar-coating, and although this can come across as a bit off-putting at first, we know she is just trying to get the job done in the best way possible. We also know she has a fascinating personal life that involves her husband seeing another woman.

Enid tries to make sense of this by claiming you can't have it all (meaning you can't have the perfect job and the perfect relationship). She seems to be content with this dynamic she shares with her husband until she actually sees her man hand in hand with another woman. That's when we are finally exposed to the vulnerable version of Enid, proving that although it seems like she is on top of the world, she is still human.

MARIA DIEGA REYES

Maria Diega Reyes was Samantha's girlfriend for a few episodes on SATC. Her character was enticing to watch due to her lust for life and her need for passion. She was a talented artist and a spiritual person who seemed to approach the world much differently than the majority of the characters on the show.

Unlike the other women, she couldn't care less about material things and instead valued deep soulful connections. She and Samantha started out as friends until Maria admitted that she couldn't just be friends with Sam. It was a beautiful moment and we wish her character got treated with a little more attention as well as respect.

DR. ROBERT LEEDS

How could we not swoon in adoration whenever Dr. Robert Leeds would grace the screen? He was easily the most attractive love interest throughout the history of the show, and what's more, he was also a doctor. Yet the best thing about Robert was his personality.

He refused to play mind games with Miranda and he was open as well as honest with her about his feelings from the very beginning. He was basically the perfect catch, yet for some reason, Miranda decided to go for the guy who watches Scooby-Doo in his underwear all day. Not saying we don't love Steve, but how could she pass up Leeds? It still doesn't make sense.

STANFORD BLATCH

Stanford Blatch may love to gossip and judge others, (he considers it to be his favorite hobby),  but despite all this, we can say for a fact that this man is a sweetheart. He is arguably the purest soul on the show and he is always willing to drop everything for Carrie.

Stanford is one of the greatest friends on the series, but we would love to hear more stories from his perspective. It would be nice to see plotlines that revolve around him and his dating life as a gay man in NYC. Who wouldn't want to watch a whole episode that would solely revolve around him realizing that Anthony is "the one"?

ANTHONY MARENTINO

Anthony Marentino is another character on the show who we wish we could have gotten to see more of. He was hilarious and full of life, always coming with the best comebacks and ideas. He even helped plan Charlotte's wedding with Harry!

Although that wedding turned out to be a total disaster, it still looked gorgeous and that was all thanks to Anthony and his creative vision. Yet unfortunately, we only got to see one side of his character as the sassy sidekick to Charlotte. We would have loved to get more dimensions to his character and get a peek into his everyday life.

JEREMY

Jeremy, played by the ever so talented David Duchovny, was one of Carrie's few promising love interests on the entire show. His character was Carrie's high school sweetheart who she always remembered with a sense of fondness.

When they came in contact with each other in the present day as fully grown adults, Carrie managed to feel giddiness and excitement that she hadn't felt since high school. Jeremy revealed to her that he was living in a mental facility and although this made Carrie a bit uncertain at first, they ended up having one of the most civil relationships on the show.

VICTORIA

Victoria was an utterly hilarious character played by the one and only Jennifer Coolidge. We would have given our right arm to see more of her character and it was a pity that she only managed to appear in one episode. She played a woman who was going through a terrible breakup and wouldn't let anyone forget it. We all have a habit of doing stupid things when we are in the midst of a bad breakup.

Some of us dye our hair strange colors. Victoria, on the other hand, makes hundreds of hideous purses and plans to make a business out of selling them. Her outlandish personality was one we would've loved to see more of, even if it meant seeing her sport all of those ugly purses.

LEXI FEATHERSTON

Lexi Featherson was another character on the show who caught our attention. Although she only appeared for a brief moment on the show, she was a significant part of the series. She helped Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha, and Miranda realize how short and precious life is after she fell out of the window at a party.

Right before she died, she claimed New York was dead and how people don't live to the fullest anymore. The irony!

NATASHA

Natasha was Big's 25-year-old love interest on Sex and the City, and she served as Carrie's opposite. While Natasha was conventionally considered perfect and did all the right things, Carrie was always quirky and she took chances when it came to love even if she ended up falling flat on her face in the process.

Natasha did not deserve what happened to her at all when Carrie and Big had their affair, and we would have loved to witness what went on during that whole dilemma from her point of view.

BEN "THE FOUNTAIN MAN"

Ben was a character who had a lot of promise despite the fact that he only appeared in one episode of the show. He was the picture-perfect man who Carrie met at the fountain in central park. It was like something straight out of a romantic comedy, and we were totally here for it.

They ended up getting closer, and when Carrie spent the night at his place she took the time to ransack his entire apartment in order to find out if he had any flaws or freakish qualities. Ironically, her actions and paranoia ended up making Carrie the freakish one!
