It is no surprise to say that the fashion of Sex And The City is absolutely iconic. Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte all offered us some unforgettable looks over the course of six seasons. Some of these outfits were outlandish, some basic, and some so glamorous only Carrie Bradshaw could truly pull them off. While we followed their love stories, heartbreak, and legendary sexcapades, there was always some solid fashion choices being made.

Good or bad, the looks of the ladies shaped a lot of our fashion sense today. Though it's been 15 years since we last saw these girls get into trouble, some of their fashion choices have remained solid, and there are outfits that you could catch anyone wearing in 2019. There are, however, some outfits that definitely need to stay in the '90s. Here are 5 outfits from the show that should stay in their decade, and 5 that still work now!

Totally 90's: Pattern Mixing to the Max

Usually, Carrie is the most fashionable gal in the group. However, this outfit just doesn't quite scream modern. The outfit itself is not that bad. A crop top, skirt, and jacket - all things you would catch someone wearing in 2019.

However, the mixing of the patterns is just a little too much. If the jacket was just solid white, we'd probably have a winning outfit on our hands. Close, but not quite enough.

Works Today: Miranda's Power Suit

Who doesn't love a power suit? Miranda was often in pantsuits due to her job as a lawyer, but the full men's suit look is one that is really working for women in 2019.

Many female celebrities have graced the red carpet this year in a power suit. There is something about it that just says I mean business, and I deserve to be taken seriously. This was sort of Miranda's entire motto during the series, so it makes perfect sense.

Totally 90's: Capris and a Headscarf

The jean capris plus the headscarf...totally '90s. Jean capris were definitely a middle school staple, but they really just don't work today. The headscarf wouldn't be so bad if it weren't paired with this particular outfit.

The white flow tank top is also such a '90s look! Most tops these days are much more form-fitting. Altogether, an outfit that should probably stay in the previous decade.

Works Today: Carrie's Lingerie Look

What a look! The lingerie-inspired look definitely works today. So many celebrities love to sport this look as street style or on the red carpet. There is something seriously sexy and mysterious about wearing a lingerie-esque look in public.

It's no surprise that Carrie Bradshaw would be so daring to conjure up this look in the '90s. Many girls like to rock the bralette or silk nightgown type of look. And if anyone could pull it off now, it's the Carrie of your friend group.

Totally 90's: Blue Glitter

Although Samantha Jones is typically a total trendsetter, this look just doesn't fly. The all-blue glitter crop top, pants, and the scarf is not a typical outfit you would see this year.

While the monochromatic look is one that many people like to sport nowadays, the blue glitter just really dates the outfit. Sadly, we don't see this one sliding in the year 2019.

Works Today: The Perfect Slip Dress

Slip dresses will never go out of style! We're convinced that Carrie Bradshaw herself started the movement of wearing your evening bedroom wardrobe, out in the open. So many people rock this look in 2019, and it is a favorite among A-list celebs.

A simple silky slip dress paired with the perfect pair of pumps...what could be better? This look totally belongs in every decade, may it never go out of style!

Totally 90's: Carrie's Pink Dress

The color, the ruching, the chunky jewelry...it all screams not this decade. This look is more so reminiscent of the '80s if anything, but it wasn't surprising to see Carrie in her '80s gear every once in a while throughout the series.

When Carrie plays dress up, the end result is usually sleek and sexy. We can't say the same for this look. If you were going for a dated prom look, this one is a winner.

Works Today: Charlotte's Jean Jacket

This look is everything. Whether you like it or not, the bucket hat and jean jacket have both made a full return and don't seem to be fading anytime soon. There was a short time when jean jackets weren't super popular, but boy are they back with a vengeance.

This combination on Charlotte is perfect, both for the '90s and now! Almost every famous Instagram influencer is rocking this look nowadays. This outfit is a very California street style for 2019, and we are totally here for it.

Totally 90's: That Taupe Dress

Charlotte's taupe dress from the very first season of SATC is nothing short of iconic...or dated. We think it's the combination of the color and material of the dress, plus that hairstyle. Are they twists? Are they braids? Are they totally '90s? Absolutely.

Charlotte typically goes for a classy and timeless look, usually mirroring the elegance of the late Princess Diana. Though, despite the regal air about her, Charlotte York definitely missed the mark with this one.

Works Today: Miranda's Street Style

Okay, hear us out. We know this look really does have the '90s written all over it...but we have seen so many celebrities sporting looks like this in their street style! Street style has really become a big fad over the last couple of years, sizing up the looks of off duty models, and actors on their way to set.

The overalls and puffer jacket might seem like an odd combo, but it's one of those things that's so wrong, it's right. Tell us Billie Eilish wouldn't kill this look?
