Apple TV+'s enigmatic new drama, Servant, has quickly become one of the streaming service's most talked about programs, with each new episode adding a new layer to its mystery.

Servant’s latest episode, “Haggis,” is a very sobering installment. It introduces Natalie, Dorothy’s kinesiologist, into the equation. While the episode is not strictly from Natalie’s perspective, her presence in the Turner house does seem to present the Turners in a slightly more grounded light, especially in regard to the truth behind baby Jericho.

The overwhelming feeling in this episode is that Dorothy is becoming increasingly detached and that some very real trauma is festering within her. There's finally a reference to what Jericho actually looked like. Julian says that there's a "passing resemblance" between this current baby and Jericho, which is the first real confirmation that Dorothy actually gave birth. It seems like Jericho really was born, but then tragedy struck, rather than this all being an extended miscarriage metaphor.

Dorothy Accidentally Killed Jericho & Sean And Julian Helped Cover It Up

Up until this point, Servant has been very cagey regarding any details about Jericho, including his cause of death. Pointedly, Sean addresses that Dorothy's been drinking and because she's wearing high heels at the time that she shouldn't carry Jericho down the stairs because she'd never be able to forgive herself if anything happened. This could just be general caution, but it could also specifically be referring to past events. Maybe this even happened before.

In the shower, Dorothy seems to show genuine remorse and sadness over something she did to Jericho. Dorothy’s kinesiologist, Natalie, also seems genuinely disturbed when Leanne shares with her that she’s hired a nanny because from her perspective, Jericho is simply a doll. To go even further, Julian also later says, "F*ck Dorothy. The rest of us were there, too. Why didn't I get a doll?" This again subtly reflects on what actually happened and implies that Dorothy did get a doll because she's perhaps the guiltiest one in this scenario and she's being tested.

What Happened In The Turners’ Basement?

To go one step further with all of this, Julian also has an adverse reaction when he sees a little yellow onesie. While it's not the same piece of clothing, it's incredibly similar to the yellow piece of baby clothing that Leanne finds in the basement that Sean chastises her over. Presumably, this onesie or sleeper is what Jericho actually passed away in and it's why it's such a PTSD-triggering element for them. Were Dorothy and Sean in such shock and denial over Jericho's death that they hid the body somewhere on their property, only for Leanne to come across it and throw this whole exercise into motion?

Considering that the onesie is found in the basement and that’s also where the foreboding cracks in the floor begin, perhaps Sean even buried him down there. Minor details also indicate that after whatever tragedy happened, Sean and Julian didn't call an ambulance or police, but rather their kinesiologist, Natalie, which seems very strange. If they actually had a body to hide, keeping authorities out of this makes sense. Natalie definitely refers to a cover up of sorts. With the penultimate episode of Shyamalan’s Servant titled “Jericho,” perhaps the series will soon flash back to the events of Jericho’s birth and death to finally provide some firm answers before the season comes to a close.
