The streamer's decision for an early Servant season 4 renewal doesn't come as much of a surprise given Apple TV+ ordered both the show's second and third seasons nearly a month ahead of their predecessors' respective premieres. Additionally, the show has proven to be a hit for Apple, scoring rave reviews not only from critics but also genre legends Stephen King and Guillermo del Toro. Though Shyamalan's first TV effort with Wayward Pines wasn't a complete dud, Servant has proven to be a better project for his talents through its run.

The more interesting takeaway from the Servant season 4 renewal is Shyamalan's announcement that it will be the final chapter for the show. Shyamalan has previously discussed his vision for the series, originally seeing a 60 half-hour episode run before recently shifting his sights towards a 40-episode vision, which will be fulfilled with the fourth season as each season has comprised of 10 half-hour episodes. The wait for Servant season 3 is nearly over as the show is set to return to Apple TV+ on January 21.
