Apple TV+ just released a first-look trailer of the acclaimed Apple Original series Servant season 3. From series creator Tony Basgallop and Academy Award-nominated director and executive producer M. Night Shyamalan, Servant tells the haunting story of a struggling Philadelphia couple who, while mourning the death of their newborn child, unintentionally invite a "mysterious force" into their home. The psychological horror series features Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free, and Rupert Grint as its leading cast. Apple had renewed Servant for a third season in December 2020, ahead of season two which ended last March. This follows an interesting trend of Apple confidently renewing Servant for another season before the next one releases.

When we last saw Dorothy (Ambrose) and Shawn Turner (Kebbell), they were dealing with the arrival of Josephine (Barbara Sukowa), a mysterious guest who claimed to have knowledge of Jericho. In the finale, Jericho is alive and Leanne is slipping further into darkness. A burnt corpse behind the wall of her room can be assumed to be Josephine, who threatened Leanne's status with the Turners. Fans have been theorizing about the many mysteries of the show including popular ones about the entirety of the show happening in Shawn's head and Leanne and her cult working for none other than Satan. There may be even more questions as fans analyze the new clues in the season three teaser.

Apple TV+ has finally announced a premiere date for season three of Servant with the release of a teaser trailer. The first episode of the season will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, January 21. As with prior seasons, season three will feature 10 episodes and release a new one weekly, every Friday. The teaser reveals several important plot details for the next season. Set three months after the events of season two, season three sees Leanne and the Turner family in hiding from the vicious cult pursuing her.

M. Night Shyamalan has previously said he envisions a 40-episode story, so this upcoming season may be one of the last ones. Production for season three started in February, though the story doesn't seem to have been affected by COVID-19 filming restrictions. Grint has stated in an interview with Backstage that the show films chronologically, so the actors are unaware of what happens until they receive the scripts for the week, giving them the same experience as the audience. This has worked well for Servant, as the story has received praise from both Stephen King and Guillermo del Toro.

Season three of Servant comes on the heels of Apple TV+'s recent success with Ted Lasso. Along with Ted LassoServant earned Apple TV+ an Emmy nomination. Apple seems to be pushing for more original content with new shows like Foundation adding to its ever-growing library of mostly original content. Fans can anticipate the return of Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Free, and Grint, and new addition Sunita Mani (Spirited, Mr. RobotGLOW) when Servant season 3 releases on January 21.
