There are a variety of weapons and tools that can be crafted in The Serpent Rogue, but random combinations of resources need to be used to discover recipes. Additionally, some recipes can be found in chests. Once a recipe is found, it will be added to a list for the player to refer back to when necessary. Since players don't start out with any weapons or tools, it's important to discover recipes early and craft some of these items as soon as possible.

In order to craft weapons and tools, The Serpent Rogue players will need to interact with the Smeltery at the Camp in the southwest corner. At the Smeltery, players will be able to forge an item using between two and four materials. Some recipes will require more than one of the same material. Any materials used for forging will be lost even if the resources that are combined don't make up one of the predetermined recipes. Players will also lose fuel for every forging attempt regardless of whether or not an item is crafted.

Charcoal is needed to forge weapons and tools, and it can be found in various locations while adventuring in The Serpent Rogue. A lot of Charcoal can also be obtained as a byproduct of cooking. Forging will require a combination of one or more Logs, Textiles, Metal Scraps, Spectral Fuel, or Empty Bottles. Materials can be found in areas like the Wasteland or Swamp, but they can also be purchased from the Merchant.

After a weapon or tool is crafted, some of the properties can be changed through Enhancement, which is also done at the Smeltery. However, instead of Charcoal, Enhancement requires Spectral Fuel. Enhancement can add or remove effects, change effectiveness, or set the condition that the object will interact with. After crafting a weapon or tool in The Serpent Rogue, players can use Enhancement to alter the stats and perks of their items.
