Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young's wedding ceremony to HGTV star Tarek El Moussa has a hefty price tag. The duo have had had many ups and downs throughout their wedding planning process since getting engaged in July 2020. Heather recently told her fans that while she already had a wedding planner and sent out the couple's "save the dates," she had to put her nuptials on hold after they decided to celebrate in a different fashion. It turns out the process for the new direction was so stressful that the upcoming newlyweds took a break from further planning. Once they were ready to get back to the little details, the couple hired a new wedding planner and started all over. Now that everything is starting to come to fruition, Heather and Tarek have been keeping their fans in the loop via social media.
In anticipation for their big day, Heather recently celebrated her bridal shower at the Fig & Olive restaurant in Newport Beach, California. The luncheon was a ladies-only event with a party bus, champagne tower and plenty of naughty gifts. Selling Sunset co-stars Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Amanza Smith, Davina Potratz, Maya Vanderpump and newbie Emma Hernan were all in attendance. The couple continued the celebrations last weekend with joint bachelor and bachelorette parties in Palm Desert, California. The festivities included an '80s-themed pool party and an intimate dinner with their loved ones.
As the couple begins to count down the days to their "I do's," Tarek took time to update E! News about his "over budget" wedding ceremony, dream honeymoon and "epic" pre-celebrations. For starters, the reality star revealed he's tying the knot this October, and his bride-to-be's taste is "more expensive than any female I've ever met." That said, Tarek is still in awe of his fiancée and is consistently impressed with her "rock star" way of juggling wedding planning, filming her Netflix show and playing with her step-kids. As for the couple's honeymoon, they're heading to the Maldives. "It's going to be so much fun," he said. "We got a house on stilts on the water for 10 days and then we fly to Dubai. We spend a few days in Dubai and then fly home."
Though wedding planning can be stressful, Tarek notes that his kids with ex-wife Christina Haak are always in mind throughout the process. "Heather and I wanted the kids to be really involved with the wedding," he said. "Brayden got to pick his own tuxedo with a shark liner, so there's little sharks inside of his suit. Taylor got to design the perfect dress. She's so excited." Tarek continued to explain how his upcoming nuptials won't change his co-parenting dynamic since he will still be attending all of the school events and soccer games alongside his ex.
While Selling Sunset fans are starting to get an inside look into Heather and Tarek's big day, the question still remains around how much the real estate agent went over budget. It's especially concerning considering the couple is in the midst of remodeling a new home together, which also has a heavy price tag to it. Either way, it's sure to be a party the guests will never forget.
