Many Selling Sunset fans have binge-watched the newest season, and honestly, this one was way more interesting and juicy than the two that came before. Sometimes, the drama is so intense that it seems like it has to be made up! For viewers wondering if all the scenes in the show were real, or just staged to make a storyline, we've got the answers here.

The Netflix series first launched in March 2019, and was immediately picked up for season two and then three. While the first season was good, the second one turned out to be even better. Then, before the release of Season 3, Davina Potratz and Jason Oppenheim promised that this one would be way more entertaining. And rightly so—the new season has bigger and expensive houses, nastier fights, a tragic divorce, and an over the top wedding. Many fans wonder how the producers managed to capture so much drama, emotions, and plot twists in only seven to eight months of filming. Some viewers assume that these reality stars are given some kind of script or dialogues to initiate the arguments, and that there would at least be a director to guide them to act and talk in a particular way. Certainly, not many fans are entirely convinced that this much glamour, gossip, and backstabbing is just realistic. So, let's see what the Selling Sunset stars have to say about it.

The creator of the show, Adam DiVello, who previously produced The Hills, The City, and Laguna Beach, says that it's all REAL. He doesn't believe in directing his artists, so he lets them be their authentic selves. He said, "The more they're just themselves, the more likable they'll be, and the audience will relate to them. I think when you're trying to play a part, it always reads as fake, and people don't sense that person as well." Chrishell Stause confirmed that, although a few things are "amped up for the show," all the gossip and scandals are genuine.

The 39-year-old also responded to a fan on her IG, "The show isn't scripted. If it was, I would be pissed!" While referring to her split with her ex-Justin, she said, "Who wrote that plot twist?" She added, "But seriously, they can sometimes nudge us to address things, but what we say is all us. Beware anyone that says otherwise. Gotta own it." Another cast member, Amanza Smith, answered (via Metro), "if we were instructed and given a script on all of this, we would all have Oscars."

The owner of the Oppenheim Group explained that the show isn't scripted, and they are "never told to say anything." He said, "At most, I would say that in some situations, if some things need to be addressed or we're meeting a client or something, we'll be asked to wait to make sure if we get everything on camera, but that's certainly not scripted." It looks like whatever viewers saw on the screen was happening in real-time, and there was no script or direction involved in the filming process. It looks like these Los Angeles based Ladies are really just that entertaining!
