With the new season of Selling Sunset out now, there may not be a more awaited character than fan favorite, Mary Fitzgerald. Mary finished the first season as arguably the focal point of the new Netflix show.

As the longest member to reign on the Oppenheim staff, Mary's importance to the organization was well documented. Many of her co workers acknowledge Mary as the office favorite but not because she's the most experienced agent. Mary and Oppenheim Group owner, Jason Oppenheim, have previously shared a past romantic history and while working together in the office sparks still fly. However in season 1, the 38-year-old mother (of a 21-year-old son) is instead revealed to be currently involved with 25-year-old French model, Romain Bonnet. In fact, the unorthodox couple gets engaged as the first season progresses and naturally drama ensues.

After Romain's proposal, the office is revealed that he has chosen a moissanite ring for his soon-to-be bride. To be clear, moissanite is a rare mineral and diamond alternative. Many people may consider this to be cheap or inappropriate as a wedding ring. While showing off her ring to the office, co worker Davina was quick to comment on the ring not being a real diamond. Later, Davina and show newcomer Chrishell speculate that Mary may be, in fact, carrying the financial weight of her relationship. This may be why Romain did not or could not break the bank on her wedding ring. After finding out about the gossip surrounding her relationship, Mary unexpectedly confronts both Chrishell and Davina at a company dinner. Davina proceeds to throw Chrishell under the bus at this dinner causing a rift between the two.

But this wasn't the only awkward situation surrounding Mary's engagement. As stated, Mary shares a close relationship with ex boyfriend and boss, Jason Oppenheim. This relationship goes so far that the two decided to co own a puppy despite Mary currently being in a relationship with Romain. Additionally, Jason holds the couple's engagement party at his own house! The dinner that resulted from this endeavor highlighted awkward questions that were directed towards Mary and Jason about their current relationship standing. Needless to say, during the dinner Romain was visibly uncomfortable.

Towards the end of the season, Mary's best friend Christine catches wind of Chrishell and Davina's conversation. With Davina being a close friend of Christine, they both confront Chrishell about being fake to Mary at the season finale party. As the argument heated up, Mary clearly sided with Chrishell against the persecution of the two girls. When the season ended, the initial office alliances appeared torn as they never were before. Fans can check out the results of this conflict and more on Mary by watching season 2 of Selling Sunset which is now available on Netflix.
