Selling Sunset season 2 is out, and the beef between Mary Fitzgerald and Christine Quinn continues. These two best friends first turned foes when Mary took Chrishell Stause's side and said that Christine was going "ballistic." Since that day, these realtors cum reality stars do not see eye to eye to eye. Fast forward to season 2, instead of making amends, Mary (kind of) makes things worse by having a second bachelorette party to which Maya, Heather, and Christine were not invited.
Once upon a time, Mary and Christine were roommates, co-workers, and best friends. However, as soon as Chrishell enters the series, their friendship turns sour. Christine, being a good friend, tries to protect Mary's relationship with Romain and criticizes the new entrant for being too intrusive and asking prying questions about the couple. Surprisingly, Mary did not side with Christine. Instead, she hugged Chrishell by going against the only person who was talking on behalf of her. Maybe that's why the 31-year-old Christine didn't share her engagement news with Mary. So, later on, she made up her own version of their love story (which was insulting to Christine's relationship) and claimed that Christian (Christine's husband) was already seeing someone when he met Christine.
However, many viewers thought Mary was acting mature when she invited Christine as well as Davina (who was not invited to the wedding) for her bachelorette party. But, shortly after, she had another well-coordinated party with Amanza and Chrishell. Moreover, they tried to hide the evidence by not posting any pictures and taking the one down, which was uploaded by one of their mutual friends. When their little secret party got revealed, Mary just gave a weak excuse that it was an unplanned last-minute party. Well, the cast and viewers know that it wasn't the case.
The trio was planning for the same at the beginning of episode 8. Of course, other girls' feelings got hurt, and they felt betrayed. Christine explained, "I think she had the first bachelorette party to be inclusive to everyone in the office. Then she had the other bachelorette party with her 'real' friends. I think she wanted to have one so people would shut up because Mary has a habit of not being inclusive to people, but still have her own party at the end of the day." Other girls thought that they were invited to the first party just because Mary was obligated to as they work together under one roof every day. So, Christine tried to have a mature conversation with Mary about their second bachelorette party. Mary just said that it was an impromptu party with her sister and best friend.
But, when she asked her why Chrishell was there, Mary didn't answer the question and just walked off. In a media interview, Christine said, "I knew I wasn't going to get invited. All of these girls are afraid to stand up for themself that I feel myself out of loyalty standing up for them. Sometimes it gets me in trouble as it did with Chrishell last year, but no one can accuse me of not being authentic." Many viewers know that Christine speaks her mind and likes being honest. She is critical of those people who are two-faced behavior. If Mary didn't want certain people at her bachelorette, then she could have made it pretty clear. However, she chose to stack up lies about her second well-organized bachelorette party, which didn't go well with her ex-best friend.
