As Selling Sunset season 2 unfolds, it's evident that Christine Quinn has replaced Mary Fitzgerald with Davina Potratz as her best friend. Christine says she sympathizes with Davina and thinks she’s the realest of The Oppenheim Group. By digging a little deeper, it becomes pretty obvious why Christine chose a new bestie.

Throughout Selling Sunset season 1, Christine and Mary were the best of friends. Now, there is obvious tension between Christine and Mary. In fact, the tension is so bad that Christine didn’t even tell Mary that she was engaged to marry her new man, Christian Richards. Christine only told Davina about her engagement while she was abroad on vacation. Mary was upset and hurt by the fact that Christine didn’t tell her about her engagement, but that was likely Christine’s intention. The main reason why Christine replaced her bestie is because there’s still unresolved conflict from the ending of season 1.

Things ended poorly between Christine and Mary at the end of the last season. Christine and Chrishell Stause had an intense argument that was boiling for the duration of the show. Christine was ruthless in the argument and stuck to her guns which made Mary feel sympathetic towards Chrishell. Naturally, Christine becomes troubled by the fact that her best friend didn’t take her side and would want a new bestie who would stick up for her no matter what.

Christin Quinn Selling Sunset-2

Christine chose Davina as her new best friend because they get along very well. Christine expresses that she likes Davina because she’s the most real out of everyone. Actually, her paraphrased words were, “Davina is the only one without fake boobs so she must be the realest of The Oppenheim Group bunch." The first time the two women get close is when Christine decides to tell Davina that Mary and Romain might not invite her to their upcoming wedding. Romain expresses extreme dislike for Davina which is why they’re considering leaving her out. Christine feels bad for Davina because she’d be the only one not invited. During their conversation, Christine throws major shade at Mary by telling Davina that she wouldn’t tell her because it takes balls and Mary doesn't have any.

All in all, it’s completely understandable that Christine would be upset with Mary. Friends are supposed to stick up for one another and Mary sided with Christine’s enemy, Chrishell, at the end of season one when the stakes were high. Christine has every right to feel singled out from the group when even her best friend leaves her hanging. Hopefully Christine and Mary can reconcile their differences during season two of Selling Sunset. And if not, Christine always has Davina to rely on, or does she?
