Fans of Selling Sunset have watched the rise and fall of Mary Fitzgerald's friendship with fellow Oppenheim Group agent Christine Quinn. The two started the show as good friends and colleagues. However, over the course of three seasons, the two high profile agents have quarreled with each other over workplace differences and drama. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Mary explained their fallout and why she's not "closer" with her co-star and coworker.

In season one viewers were introduced to Christine and Mary. Two blonde bombshells who both did well in selling high-priced properties in the LA area. However, as new faces came into the office and lifestyles began to change, the close friendship Mary and Christine once shared appeared to fade away. Things first came to a head when Mary opted to become friendly with newcomer Chrishell Stause after Christine verbally attacked her at an event. Additionally, Christine has expressed her issue with Mary being so close to the Oppenheim Group boss and owner Jason Oppenheim. Mary and Jason are open about being best friends after they tried dating years ago. With Mary getting married in season two, and Christine getting married in season three, the two maintained an amicable relationship, but the friendship appeared nonexistent.

Since season three wrapped, Christine has announced her pregnancy with husband Christian Richard. Fans have wondered if Mary has spoken to Christine to congratulate her on her big news. While speaking exclusively with Screen Rant, Mary gave an update on the status of her relationship with Christine and where they'll be starting off from in season four"I sent her a voice text just congratulating her," Mary revealed. "I heard about it from tabloids actually, so I just sent her a message saying I wanted to congratulate her. And I look forward to hearing the details, but I don't know anything." Her answer seemingly confirmed that the two are still not on the best terms with each other.

Christine Quinn looking serious on Selling Sunset

She noted how she wanted to stay "respectful" toward her former friend. She shared what she told Christine when she reached out. "If there's anything you don't want to be put out there, let me know," Mary recalled telling Christine. "If there's something you do want me to say, let me know. Otherwise, I don't know anything. So, I'll just give my own thoughts on it." She just said, 'Thank you so much. That's very respectful.' But she didn't tell me anything, so I don't know." Mary appeared confused on if Christine gave her approval to speak on her pregnancy. The conversation might be the latest sign of tension between the two Netflix stars. Since filming wrapped, Mary admits that she hasn't "seen her in months."

While noting how many agents haven't come into the office due to the pandemic, she also added that she and Christine are "not that close anymore, we just don't talk frequently unless there's a reason to." She continued. "But we're in a decent place, and we get along whenever we talk. We just haven't had the opportunity to get back to a closer place like we used to be." With them both being married, and Christine expecting her first child, "we're both living our own lives now. We have our own things going on," Mary added. Fans are anxious to see the dynamic between Mary and Christine next season. Netflix recently greenlit the show for seasons four and five.
