It’s been one year since Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young became engaged to Tarek El Moussa after the Flip or Flop star popped the question in a stunning beachfront proposal last July. Young shared a set of sweet photos on social media to mark the anniversary, calling El Moussa, “My best friend, my person, and my rock.” The pair began dating in July of 2019, after El Moussa spotted Young on a neighboring boat docked in Newport Beach. The couple allegedly moved in together after only a week.

The 39-year-old ended his 9 year marriage to Flip or Flop co-star Christina Haack in 2017. The couple shares two children, Taylor, 10, and Brayden, 5. Despite their split, the two continue to host their hit HGTV series. Last week, it was reported that El Moussa launched into an on-set tirade directed at Haack, in which he allegedly told his ex-wife that Young is “hotter and richer” than her.

On Sunday, Young posted throwback photos from her engagement to the real estate star with a sentimental caption, writing, “One year ago today I made the best decision of my life by saying yes to spending forever with the most special man.” The 33-year old recalled the day of the proposal, sharing that she felt her surroundings melt away as she stared at her “forever person.” She thanked her husband-to-be for making her smile “every day”, praising El-Moussa for his hard work and parenting, writing, “I fall more and more in love with you as I watch how amazing of a dad you are with the babies, how hard you work, and how you put family and your loved ones first in your life.

While Young has stated she did not want to hold a wedding during the COVID-19 pandemic, as restrictions continue to ease the couple has resumed preparation for the big day. In December, Young was spotted wedding dress shopping with Selling Sunset co-star Chrishell Stause. Young previously revealed some of her bridal tastes when she accompanied co-star Christine Quinn wedding dress shopping in episode five of the show’s third season, sharing Quinn’s penchant for over-the-top glamour.

While both Quinn and co-star Mary Fitzgerald’s weddings were filmed for the show, it’s unclear if Young and El Moussa’s nuptials will be televised. Young has shared, however, that the wedding planning process will be a part of the upcoming fourth season of Selling Sunset. If cast hints are to be believed, this may be the most drama-filled installment to date.
