Heather Rae Young of Selling Sunset is sharing details of her Winter Wonderland-themed baby shower. Heather is expecting her first child, a boy, with husband Tarek El Moussa. The Flip or Flop star shares two older children, Taylor and Brayden, with ex-wife Christina Haack. Tarek and Heather got married in October 2021, and their wedding was shown on season 5 of her Netflix show.
The real estate agent gave an inside look at the shower for her baby boy, due in early 2023, exclusively to People. On Sunday, November 13th, Heather also posted some photos to her Instagram page. The shower was designed for a festive winter wonderland theme, complete with snowflakes and an exclusively blue, silver, and white color palette. The guests, which included Heather's Selling Sunset co-stars Chrishell Stause, Emma Hernan, Davina Potratz, and new cast member Bre Tiesi, dressed accordingly. Heather wore an elaborate beaded gown, which had "Baby El Moussa" embroidered in the train. The mom-to-be, who frequently talks about being vegan, made sure menu followed suit. She entered the Newport Beach-set shower with step-daughter Taylor. The Oppenheim Group agent praised the 12-year-old, as well as 7-year-old step-son Brayden, for being supportive, and "just so loving and caring," ahead of their half-brother's arrival. "They know that I'm dealing with the back issues and Taylor's always checking on me," the 35-year-old gushed, adding, "Every time I moan while moving, she's like, 'Are you okay? Do you need anything?'" Heather, who feuded with their mom Christina, said sharing the pregnancy with her step-kids has been "so special."
Heather & Tarek Prepare For Baby Boy's Arrival
The Netflix star admitted she and Tarek haven't picked a name yet, but they are deep in baby preparation. Heather told People that the whole family is "just getting really excited." She added, "The nursery is coming together and it's so sweet because we're all calling it 'the baby's room' now, even the kids. It's just really cute." For baby shower gifts, Heather asked guests to bring baby books, so that she can "start a library collection for the baby and have our closest friends and family members each write something special to our son." In addition to welcoming their first child, Heather and Tarek have their own HGTV show, The Flipping El Moussas, to look forward to.
Throughout Heather's pregnancy, however, she has weathered some backlash about her relationship with her baby daddy. As shown on Selling Sunset, Heather and Tarek's romance got very serious very fast. While Heather has become close with her now step-children, co-star Amanza Smith expressed concern she met them so early in the relationship. But while the whirlwind romance has lasted several years now, the criticism hasn't stopped. Just a few months ago, Heather had to defend herself against hater who claimed that she is "obsessed" with her husband.
Tarek also faced criticism from Selling Sunset fans. The 41-year-old made headlines last year for screaming at ex Christina on set. During this tirade, he said that Heather was hotter and younger than his first wife. At the Selling Sunset season 5 reunion, Heather only further angered fans by joking that this assessment was correct. She also publicly fought Christina at Brayden's soccer game. However, the blended family has since appeared more cordial. Meanwhile, fans will have to wait and see if Heather's baby shower is shown on an upcoming season of Selling Sunset. The Netflix hit is set to return for seasons 6 and 7.
